While no news has leaked out of Cleveland yet regarding the future of Browns’ sixth year head coach Kevin Stefanski, one can imagine that going 7-26 over the last two seasons likely means the 43-year-old is soon to be out of a job in 2026.
With that in mind, the team at Bookies.com broke down the NFL odds on who could be the Browns first new head coach since 2020, with a host of NFL coordinators and one current head coach making it onto our list.

Who Replaces Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland?
The top candidate to replace Stefanski in Cleveland is the son of former Houston Texans and Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, with current Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak checking in at +400 to be the next man up along the banks of Lake Erie.
In three years as an NFL OC, the junior Kubiak has achieved up-and-down success, leading the Minnesota Vikings to the league’s 22nd ranked offense, yards per game wise, during his first stint in 2021, before finishing 29th by that metric in the same role with the New Orleans Saints in 2024.
This year, Kubiak’s time under Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald has netted much better results, with the second-ranked scoring offense in the league (at 29.4 points per game), going 13-3 in the Emerald City this season.
Outside of Kubiak, keep an eye on a former NFL head coach that’s now the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders, as Kliff Kingsbury checks in at +500 to replace Stefanski in Cleveland, ranking alongside current Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel on our Browns coaching odds board.
In four seasons as an NFL head coach, Kingsbury went 28-37-1 with the Arizona Cardinals, reaching the postseason once (in 2021) before crashing out during a disastrous 4-13 campaign the year after.
McDaniel’s time with the Dolphins has followed a similar arc, leading Miami to the playoffs during his first two seasons in 2022 and 2023, before going 16-18 over the last two years, leaving many to believe that a change in scenery may be in the 42-year-old’s best interest this offseason.

Who Else Could Make it in Cleveland?
Other names connected to the Cleveland job that fans should keep an eye on include a host of up-and-coming NFL coordinators, such as Buffalo Bills OC Joe Brady (+600) and Dolphins OC Frank Smith (+700), while Los Angeles Rams DC Chris Shula (+800), Minnesota Vikings DC Brian Flores and Browns OC Tommy Rees (+900 each) are next in line.
Brady’s three-year run as Bills OC has seen him help guide the AFC East squad to 35 wins and two division titles, though his most impressive stint arguably was when he served as LSU’s passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2019, when the Tigers went 15-0 and won the CFP title.
Smith’s time as the Dolphins OC from 2022 onwards has overlapped with the team’s high-powered offenses in 2022 and 2023, which ranked sixth and first leaguewide in terms of yards per game generated, though things haven’t been nearly as rosy over the last two seasons, with the team’s standing plummeting to 18th and 25th, yards per game wise, in 2024 and 2025.
Shula (the grandson of NFL legend Don Shula) has coached the Rams in a variety of assistant roles since 2017, moving up to the team’s DC role last season and overseeing this year’s No. 8 ranked scoring defense, giving up 20.4 points per game in Tinseltown.
Flores had surprising success as McDaniel’s predecessor in Miami, with two winning seasons across three years in charge of the club, along with a 24-25 record overall, while this year’s Vikings team has the NFL’s 10th ranked scoring defense (allowing 20.6 points per game).
Rees is in his first season as an NFL OC after spending last year as the Browns’ passing game coordinator and tight ends coach, with stints as the OC at Notre Dame (from 2020 to 2022) and Alabama (in 2023). So far, his first run as an NFL OC has seen mixed success, with Cleveland having the league’s second-worst offense, scoring wise, averaging 16.2 points per game in the team’s 4-12 campaign along the banks of Lake Erie.
Regardless, what we know is that a change in Cleveland is likely, head coaching wise, this offseason, with the Browns looking for a new face to lead the franchise after Stefanski’s hit-and-miss tenure with the team.
