The Washington Capitals and Caesars Entertainment on Friday announced a multi-year partnership that will place the Caesars Sportsbook logo on Capitals home jerseys starting with the 2022-23 NHL season.

The Capitals are the first team that has announced an agreement in the NHL’s Jersey Advertising Program, according to a news release. The deal also includes a logo on the team’s third jerseys. The Capitals play their home games at Capital One Arena, site of the first sportsbook in a U.S. pro sports venue. It opened in May.

It is likely the first of many such deals for sportsbooks as they look for ways to grow engagement with fans and potential bettors.

Caesars Sportsbook will have a logo patch worn on Capitals home and third jerseys, positioned on the upper right chest area. It’s a 3 x 3.5-inch patch, the release said.

The sportsbook features a two-story, 18,000-square-foot venue with 17 sports betting windows and 12 self-service betting kiosks. The Caesars sports betting app can be used in the arena and within a two-block radius of the facility.

Caesars is currently running multiple promotional offers for bettors. Check out the Caesars promo codes page to learn more.

Expanded Partnership

Monumental Sports & Entertainment (owners of the Capitals and the arena) and Caesars Sportsbook will expand their partnership with additional casino, gaming and Caesars Rewards programming, along with a Caesars hospitality space and VIP seating at Capital One Arena, according to the release.

“Following the successful launch of Caesars Sportsbook adjacent to Capital One Arena last spring, we are thrilled to introduce Caesars Sportsbook as the Capitals’ inaugural home jersey advertising partner in a first-of-its-kind announced partnership in the NHL,” Jim Van Stone, MSE president of business operations and chief commercial officer, said in the release.

“Together as two industry leaders, we’ve built a robust partnership in the gaming and casino space, and our overall relationship reflects our shared commitment to providing sports fans with world-class, unique experiences.

”MSE, the Capitals and Caesars share a commitment and passion toward innovation in the sports and entertainment space.”

NHL Jersey Advertising Program

The league’s Jersey Advertising Program begins with the 2022-23 NHL season and allows up to two jersey sponsors per team when separate sponsors appear on home and away jerseys, the release said.

The Capitals said they will announce an away jersey sponsor at a later date.

“Being woven into the Washington Capitals jersey is an exciting chapter in our collective story,” Chris Holdren, co-president of Caesars Digital, said in the release. “Like Monumental Sports & Entertainment, we love blazing trails and we are always looking for innovative opportunities that drive engagement and storytelling for fans.”

The Capitals host the Boston Bruins on Sept. 26 at 5 p.m. ET to open its 2021-22 preseason. The Caps regular season begins on Oct. 13 when they host the New York Rangers at 7:30 p.m ET.

According to the latest NHL betting odds, Washington is between +2500 and +3000 on NHL futures odds markets to win the 2022 Stanley Cup.
