Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose. Check out their best bets for today below.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 1:15 Aintree - Off The Jury

It doesn’t look like the handicapper has got to the bottom of Off The Jury yet who is trying to make it three in a row over fences today. He has certainly looked a better horse over the larger obstacles and with only two chase runs under his belt there is certainly more to come. This is his first go at three miles over fences as well, so he might have even more to offer at the trip.

Tip 2 - 1:25 Fontwell - Koenigsstern

The experienced Koenigsstern is no stranger to Fontwell, having won over 2m2f on Christmas Eve in 2024 and more recently came second in a Class 2 over course and distance in March. He’s now 216432 on this course and dropping back down to Class 5 only enhances credentials, as does his rating staying at 103. If there’s no rust after 224 days away, he should be right in the mix.

Tip 3 - 1:50 Aintree - Dedicated Hero

There’s plenty of noise surrounding €210,000 UK debutant Lyssenko in this race, and there’s a chance he’s handicapped extremely generously, but we prefer the chances of Dedicated Hero at a bigger price. When last seen in the handicap sphere, he won the Scottish Champion Hurdle by five lengths in April. We’re willing to ignore his first run back last month as going fresh hasn’t always come easy. But in a Class 3 hurdle after winning that Grade 2 last year from just four pounds higher, he can win from top weight here.

Tip 4 - 3:00 Aintree - JPR One

The Tizzard yard has been among the winners of late, with eight of their last 27 runners ending up in the winners’ enclosure. One such runner was JPR One, who landed a Cheltenham handicap on his seasonal reappearance two weeks ago. He faces no easy task carrying top weight thanks to his rating of 161, but having been beaten a head in the Grade 1 Celebration Chase in April, this represents a fairly winnable assignment for him.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
