Sergei Bobrovsky has led the Florida Panthers to the past two Stanley Cups, further cementing his goaltending reputation and upending previous NHL betting odds.
But with the team flagging, will Florida trade its 37-year-old goaltender? The Panthers have until Friday’s trade deadline to decide whether to hold on to the native Russian or cut him loose and pretty much give up on their playoff hopes for this season. Here are our Sergei Bobrovsky next team odds:

Sergei Bobrovsky Trade Rumors: What’s Behind Them?
Reports indicate that Florida is listening to offers for the goalie, who is a pending unrestricted free agent. He does not seem to be close to an extension, but there is still real skepticism around the league that a deal will get done before the March 6 league deadline. Bobrovsky also has a 16-team no-trade clause, which narrows the field considerably.
Bobrovsky, a 16-year veteran, has split the bulk of his career between the Columbus Blue Jackets (where he won two Vezina Trophies) and the Panthers. His individual brilliance never led the Blue Jackets to postseason glory – they made the playoff once in his seven-year tenure.
But Florida has been a different story. The Panthers won the past three Eastern Conference titles and won the Stanley Cup twice, in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
So why is Bobrovsky on the trading block, aside from his impending UFA status? Florida has struggled all season and now has +750 odds to make the playoffs with bet365 Sportsbook, as of March 4. Going into Wednesday’s games, the Panthers were 10 points out of the final East wild-card spot with 21 games remaining in the regular season.
Still, we think that the most likely scenario is for the goalie to stay put, which is why we have a 36.4% chance that he will remain with the Panthers. That would equal +175 odds with top sports betting apps.
Who Might Acquire Bobrovsky?
Edmonton remains the clearest outside fit on this board if the Panthers seek a trading partner. NHL.com and ESPN have both flagged the Oilers as a logical Bobrovsky landing spot if Florida seriously explores the market, though the salary cap math would be tricky.
Bobrovsky is in the final year of a deal which is paying him $6 million this season, according to Spotrac.com data. However, his cap hit is $10 million. The site’s data points indicate no current cap room for either Florida or Edmonton. So the teams that have met in the Stanley Cup final the past two seasons can’t really stash away each other’s player contracts.
Vegas also makes sense as a speculative contender fit. But – stop us if you have heard this one before – the Golden Knights don’t have any 2025-26 cap room, either. Of all the teams on this list, Vegas is the only one in first place, atop a weak Pacific Division. At BetRIvers Sportsbook, the Knights have +1100 odds to win the Stanley Cup.
The overall tone of the reporting points to Florida keeping Bobrovsky as the most likely outcome. Stay with Bookies.com for more insight plus sports betting sites reviews.
