As we approach the start of Spring Training, MLB general managers are sure to be turning their attention towards rounding out their 26-man rosters, adding the best pitching and hitting possible.

One such candidate could be Walker Buehler, who has the potential to be an under-the-radar addition after posting 12.3 WAR and 57 wins across 157 games pitched with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

With that in mind, the team at Bookies.com compiled some hypothetical next team MLB odds for 2026. Buehler is being framed as a potential best-value upside bet—a former big-game arm who could take a short deal to rebuild value.

Where Does Buehler Go From Here?

Buehler’s production on the bump has waned in recent years, going from a career-best 7.1 WAR with the Dodgers in 2021 to a 0.3 WAR campaign in 2022 and negative totals in 2024 (-1.2) and 2025 (-0.1), per Baseball-Reference.com.

But when he’s on, Buehler is among the best in the business at what he does, racking up 200-plus strikeouts with the Dodgers in 2019 and 2021, though he’s fallen on hard times ever since.

Phillies, Padres May Have Interest

Given that level of potential, expect the league’s risk takers like the Phillies (+350), San Diego Padres (+400) and New York Yankees (+550) to be among the frontrunners to land Buehler this offseason at US betting apps.

Two more landing spots, in the Los Angeles Angels (+650) and Orioles (+700) round out our list of potential Buehler landing spots this offseason, as one lucky MLB GM hopes to land the two-time All-Star starter as the clock speeds towards pitchers and catchers reporting for duty across the 30-team league.

For what it’s worth, the team at Spotrac.com estimates Buehler’s market value to be $10 million per season, giving him the best odds of landing a one-year deal worth $10.016 million in 2026.

Such a deal would pale in comparison to the one-year deal Buehler signed with Boston that netted him $21.050 million last year, though it would represent a chance to start anew after flaming out with the Red Sox (and Phillies) last season.

For now, we’re betting on Phillies GM Preston Mattingly making a last-minute deal to land the former star pitcher, with Buehler looking for a surge in productivity during a potential first full season in the City of Brotherly Love.
