The World Cup kicks off this summer with 48 teams, a re4cord for soccer’s biggest event. It kicks off with a group stage match, Mexico vs. South Africa on June 11 inside Mexico City’s Estadio Banorte, and concludes with the finale July 19 at MetLife Stadium.

To get a sense of which of the summer’s World Cup matches fans and soccer betting customers should keep a lookout for, Bookies.com analyzed every 2026 FIFA World Cup match and ranked them for this World Cup watchability index:

Methodology: We used an algorithm that factors in betting lines, projected wins, game day atmosphere/weather, major storylines and the game’s availability on national TV or streaming service.

Legal sports betting apps have a huge variety of wagers for each game and the tournament as a whole.

Top World Cup Matches Based on Watchability Score

The obvious top pick this summer is that 2026 World Cup final in East Rutherford, New Jersey. That will wrap up five weeks of action and a record 104th match of the tournament.

Oddsmakers from DraftKings Sportsbook currently list European football giants Spain (+220), France and England +300 each) as the current favorites to reach the final game at the Meadowlands.

In total, that finale scored highest of any 2026 World Cup match on our list, at 78.9 points. That, beating out both semifinal round matches, and quarterfinal matches came next.

Most Watchable Group Stage Matches Including Brazil vs Morocco

The most watchable group stage match scored the 11th most points overall. That’s when Group C goliaths Brazil and Morocco meet at 3 p.m. Eastern time inside MetLife Stadium (or “New York/New Jersey Stadium” as it will be known during the World Cup because organizer FIFA is very picky about which corporate branding is allowed). That match scored 66.4 points in our metrics.

At bet365 Sportsbook, those two teams are among the 13 favorites to win the World Cup. Brazil, the record five-time champs, are tied for fourth on the board at +800 odds; Morocco, which became the first African team to reach the World Cup semifinals in 2022, is at +500, tied for No. 12. The operator also offers a prop for first-time winners (which would include Morocco) with “no” at -300 odds and “yes” at +225.

Least Watchable World Cup Matches

Conversely, each of the 10 least watchable World Cup matches are during the group stages. With 48 teams now involved, some of the matchups were bound to involve teams with lesser reputations.

Match 13 between Group H favorite Spain and likely cellar-dweller Cape Verde scoring the fewest points (41.4). FanDuel Sportsbook has Spain as an overwhelming Group H betting favorite, at -310, while the first-time event participant from Africa has the longest odds by far at +5500.

Other matches that scored poorly feature similarly mismatched clubs, with the Group L tussle between England and Ghana (41.7 points) second lowest overall. England is the heavy favorite to win Group L at -350 odds with BetMGM Sportsbook, compared with +1000 for Ghana. The African nation is third on the board to win that group, behind Croatia (+350) and ahead of Panama (+5000).

USA vs Turkey and Canada vs Switzerland World Cup Match Rankings

The U.S. men’s national team ends Group D play against Turkey, on June 25 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. That match scored 65.5 points to rank 14th overall in our World Cup watchability index.

The team at Caesars Sportsbook has both teams 1-2 atop the Group D winner odds board. The USMNT leads the foursome at +130, followed by Turkey at +180.

The last Group Stage match to make our top 20 is between Canada and Switzerland, on June 24 in Vancouver. That one could decide which country emerges atop Group B. To that end, bet365 has Switzerland as the Group B betting favorite, at -110, with the Canadians listed at +250, just ahead of Bosnia-Herzegovina (+260) and Qatar (+3300).

All three host nations for this summer’s World Cup will have their fair share of must-see matches. The whole tournament should provide plenty of memorable moments from the opening kickoff on June 11 all the way through the final whistle on July 19.
