Justin Herbert isn’t looking like a QB worried about the sophomore jinx. The Los Angeles Chargers have already established themselves as a team to consider in the AFC.
They’ll get a true test on both sides of the ball in Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season, when the Chargers head east to face Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. We figure the NFL Week 6 odds on that game should see some heavy action at sportsbooks and betting sites.
Both teams have already knocked off Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs this season. It’s a marquee game in a week full of intriguing NFL betting matchups. Among the others: Mahomes and his Chiefs traveling to the nation’s capital to face a Washington team that’s also scoring points, and the Browns with its top-ranked rushing offense hosting Kyler Murray and the red-hot Cardinals.
Let’s take a deep dive into NFL Week 6 odds to help you make your NFL picks.

Miami Dolphins (-3) vs Jacksonville Jaguars, 9:30 a.m.
Jacoby Brissett’s stretch as the Dolphins’ starting QB in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa isn’t going great. Miami managed only 203 yards in a 27-17 home loss to the winless Colts in Week 4. He tossed a season-high 275 yards vs. the Buccaneers in Week 5 but it wasn’t nearly enough in a 45-17 loss. Only once has Miami managed more than 17 points, and that ended in a loss, too.
The Jaguars are still looking for the first win in the Trevor Lawrence era. They outgained the Titans by nearly 100 yards last Sunday but were still beaten where it counts, 37-19. Optimism sits with an offense that gained 273 yards through the air and 198 on the ground.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (-10), 1 p.m.
Davis Mills has not been the answer in replacement of injury QB Tyrod Taylor, but he came to play vs. the tough Patriots defense with 313 yards, three TDs and no INTs. The Texans still lost, however, getting outscored 16-7 in the second half of a 25-22 decision. The run game, which was averaging a league-low 3.2 yards per carry, managed just 2.8 this time.
The Colts offense finally showcased what Carson Wentz and Jonathan Taylor can do. For a half, anyway, before everything fell apart in a 31-25 OT loss to the Ravens. Indy was outscored 22-3 in the fourth quarter and overtime as Lamar Jackson took over. Still, there should be optimism after Wentz passed for 402 yards and Taylor accounted for 169 more and two TDs.

Green Bay Packers (-6) at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m.
Mason Crosby redeemed himself with a game-winning FG in overtime over the Bengals, his second-game winner of the season. The offense has scored 25-35 points in the last four games, all victories. An unheralded defense managed OK without star CB Jaire Alexander, picking off Joe Burrow twice.
Justin Fields was declared the starting QB from here on out for Chicago, but it’s the defense that remains the strength of this team. It held Derek Carr and the high-octane Raiders offense to 277 yards and nine points in a 20-9 road win last Sunday. A run game that was averaging 123 ypg was fine without top RB David Montgomery (knee), gaining 139 yards.

Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5) at Washington Football Team, 1 p.m.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are just 2-3 through Week 5 and in last place in the AFC West. The AFC hierarchy seemed to officially change on Sunday night when Josh Allen and the Bills dismantled KC for a 37-20 road victory. The Chiefs rank in the bottom two in total defense and in turnovers.
Washington’s defense was gashed for four TDs by Jameis Winston in a 33-22 home loss to the Saints last week. Taylor Heinicke’s playmaking ways took a wrong turn, too, with two INTs and no scores. WFT ranks in the bottom-half of the NFL in run offense, run defense, pass offense and pass defense.

Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Carolina Panthers, 1 p.m.
A last-second 51-yard FG allowed the Vikings to pull out a 19-17 home win over the winless Lions in Week 5 – it was the third game in five weeks that ended on a last-play kick. This one will be tougher. Minnesota has beaten Carolina in three of the last four meetings, but the last two games have been decided by four total points.
Carolina’s defense led the NFL vs. both the run and pass before getting lit up by the Cowboys in Week 4. It allowed only 273 vs. the Eagles in Week 5, but the offense went silent in a 21-18 home loss. The pass defense held Jalen Hurts to only 198 yards with an INT, a good omen with Kirk Cousins and Minnesota’s elite WR corps coming to town.

Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens (-2.5), 1 p.m.
People are taking notice at the Chargers following a 4-1 start against playoff competition, and that's reflected in NFL futures markets. That includes divisional wins over the Chiefs and Raiders. The defense has held its own but the offense was the catalyst last week in a 47-42 shootout victory over the Browns. Justin Herbert passed for 398 yards and four TDs.
Lamar Jackson came alive in the second half of Monday Night Football. He finish the game with 442 yards passing, four TDs and no INTs, and just six incompletions. The last two weeks he’s proven capable of beating teams through the air if opponents try and cut off his scrambling.
Take a look at Chargers vs Ravens odds, injury report, betting lines and more.
Los Angeles Rams (-9) at New York Giants, 1 p.m.
Matthew Stafford rebounded from a sub-par effort in a loss to the Cardinals by tossing for 365 yards in a 26-17 win over the Seahawks on Thursday night. Perhaps just as important, the run game posted 118 yards, 4.1 per carry and two TDs, offering an added dimension that had been missing.
We saw in Week 4 what the Giants’ offense can do when Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley are both on their game – the Giants can beat the Saints on the road. Unfortunately, both Jones and Barkley were knocked out of Sunday’s 44-20 loss to the Giants. Their availability for Week 6 is in question. The host Giants are on a 10-5 against the spread run as an underdog.
Take a look at Rams vs Giants odds, injury report, betting lines and more.
Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) at Detroit Lions, 1 p.m.
The Bengals defense shut down the Bears and Steelers in consecutive weeks but was ripped by Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones (477 combined yards) in a 25-22 OT loss in Week 5. Still, two missed FGs, one at the end of regulation and one in OT, at least proved the rest of the team can match up with a Super Bowl contender.
Detroit found another way to lose in Week 5, as the Vikings went 46 yards in 37 seconds for a last-second FG, ending in a 19-17 Lions defeat. The offense hasn’t scored more than 17 points since Week 1.

Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns (-3), 4:05 p.m.
Arizona had scored 31-plus points in every game this season until Week 5, when they were held to 17 by the 49ers. But Arizona still won that game, showing that electric NFL MVP favorite Kyler Murray doesn’t have to do it all for the Cards to be successful.
The Browns are known for a strong pass defense, but Week 5 was absolutely about offense. Over 1,000 yards of total offense were had in L.A. but Cleveland was on the wrong side of a 47-42 loss to the Chargers. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt combined for 222 yards and three TDs on the ground for the NFL’s top-ranked attack. The Cards ranks 27th vs. the run.

Dallas Cowboys (-3.5) at New England Patriots, 4:25 p.m.
Only the Browns can boast a run attack comparable to the Cowboys. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combined for 185 more yards in a 44-20 rout of the Giants in Week 5. Putting too much focus on them doesn’t work; Dak Prescott passed for 302 yards and three TDs on this day and now has 10 TDs over his last three games.
It’s hard to argue with a Patriots defense that ranks fifth in yards allowed and sixth in points. But the offense finally held its own in the team’s 25-22 Week 5 win at Houston. New England outscored the Texans 16-7 in the second half. QB Mac Jones tossed for a modest 231 yards but led the Pats on three-straight scoring drives to end it.
Take a look at Cowboys vs Patriots odds, injury report, betting lines and more.
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos (-4), 4:25 p.m.
NFL leading passer Derek Carr managed only 206 yards in a 20-9 home loss to the Bears in Week 5. He averaged 401 yards passing in the opening three weeks but 201 the last two weeks. At least they’ve beaten the Broncos in four of the last five meetings.
Teddy Bridgewater returned from a concussion to play in Week 5, but it took a half to get going, and that was too long in a 27-19 loss at Pittsburgh. Still, it was good to see him out there, and a maligned run game average 5.9 yards per carry. Denver should get bodies back for defense after a slew of injured players heal.
Take a look at Broncos vs Raiders odds, injury report, betting lines and more.
Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5), 8:20 p.m.
The Seahawks lost to the Rams 26-17 on Thursday but were dealt a much-bigger blow when Russell Wilson injured his hand. He’ll miss at least a month of action. Geno Smith takes over the offense, but it will be tough to replace the NFL’s leader in QB rating.
The Steelers offense hasn’t been effective, but it did enough last week in a win over the Broncos. Ben Roethlisberger had his best overall game and Najee Harris rushed for 122 yards, nearly double his previous best. Seattle ranks 30th vs. the run.

Buffalo Bills (-5.5) at Tennessee Titans, 8:15 p.m.
Buffalo’s bulldozing of the NFL went through Kansas City on Sunday Night Football, and it did not disappoint in a thorough 37-20 victory. Josh Allen accounted for 374 yards and four TDs and the defense forced four turnovers. Buffalo leads the NFL in points scored and fewest points allowed.
Derrick Henry rushed for 130 more yards and three more TDs and the Titans rode their train for a 37-19 road win at Jacksonville. The passing offense again finished with under 200 yards. The defense was ripped for 454 yards against the Jaguars but scored a TD and kept the scoring down; it was only the second time it allowed under 27 points.
