The Minnesota Vikings had a great season last year, finishing with a 14-3 record and earning the No. 5 spot in the NFC playoff picture after narrowly losing out of the NFC North division title to the Detroit Lions by one game. Unfortunately for the Vikings, a big regular season ended in postseason misery when they were blown out by the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round.

To make matters worse, the Vikings lost last year’s starting quarterback Sam Darnold to the Seattle Seahawks in free agency. The team is now prepared to go forward with second-year quarterback JJ McCarthy, but it remains to be seen how the youngster will perform in the NFL.

The good news for the Vikings is they have the No. 24 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to get a new prospect with, and Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical NFL odds for sports betting on who the Vikings may take in the first round.

Top Potential Candidates

📍 Malaki Starks, S, Georgia (+300)

If the Vikings want to improve their secondary, then Malaki Starks of Georgia would be a nice pickup for their safety position.

📍 Will Johnson, CB, Michigan (+350)

Another potential target in the secondary is Will Johnson, the young cornerback from Michigan.

📍 Nick Emmanwori, S, So. Carolina (+400)

Getting back to the safety position, Nick Emmanwori of South Carolina is another potential option for the Vikings.

📍 Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas (+500)

As they seem poised to want improvement in the secondary, Jahdae Barron of Texas is another potential cornerback option for the Vikings.

📍 Tyler Booker, G/C, Alabama (+700)

The Vikings could also potentially consider picking up a young offensive lineman, and if that’s the case, then Tyler Booker of Alabama would be a good option at guard and center.

📍 Darius Alexander, G/C, Alabama (+1000)

Booker’s teammate at Alabama, Darius Alexander, is another potential guard and center option for the Vikings to select as they try to improve their offensive line.

📍 Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan (+1200)

Should the Vikings look to up their defensive line, then Kenneth Grant of Michigan would be a solid pickup.

📍 Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame (+1200)

Yet another potential pickup for the Vikings in the secondary is cornerback Benjamin Morrison of Notre Dame.

📍 The Field (+550)

The Vikings may also look to the field if there is someone else who they are interested in who is still available when their pick comes up.
