5 Colts-Chiefs Prop Bets & Betting Lines to Back on SNF

The unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs play host to the Indianapolis Colts in a Sunday Night Football showdown in Week 5 of the NFL season. The Chiefs and their top-scoring offense are double-digit favorites, but the Colts have covered the spread in eight of their last nine games against teams with a winning record and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six on the road.

Let’s take a look at some of the best bets fans of NFL betting should consider:

PICK 1: Under 56.5

These teams combine to average a solid 57.3 points per game. But they allow only 48 – the Chiefs’ D may rank 30th in yards allowed but it’s only 19th in points (23.5 ppg).

Sunday Night Football has thwarted offenses. All four SNF games have hit the Under, and none were even remotely close. The Falcons beat the Eagles 24-20 in Week 2, which was not only the highest-scoring Sunday night game of the season, it was the closest to the total – and it missed the mark by nine points.

Defenses have had their way on Sunday Night Football, with all four games this season hitting the Under.

This is the highest O/U the Chiefs will have faced so far in 2019, and no Colts game has had this many points.

PICK 2: Home Team ML and Under

There’s always the chance Mahomes and the Chiefs go off for 45 points and the O/U is crushed. But the Colts have the personnel to slow the game down and a defense that ranks 16th in yards allowed.

That said, the Chiefs are the big favorite for a reason. This game could be close or a blowout, but either way, Kansas City is a good bet to win outright.

PICK 3: Highest-scoring Quarter – Second Quarter

Kansas City has been a slow-starting team, averaging only 4.2 points per first quarter. But the second quarter the Chiefs have been an overwhelming force, averaging a ridiculous 17.5 points in those 15 minutes. That’s more than the Bears, Redskins, Bengals, Jets or Dolphins average in an entire game.

Unfortunately for the Colts, the second quarter is also the quarter they’ve allowed the most points. It’s also their second-highest scoring quarter. If they can do their part, the second quarter looks like a good one with favorable odds.

PICK 4: Halftime/Fulltime – Chiefs/Chiefs

The Chiefs have crushed the competition in the second quarters and, not surprising, have led at halftime by at least 10 points in three of their four games. From there, all they have to do is hold on.

Indy has led at halftime of two games and won them both, and trailed at halftime twice and are 0-2 in those games.

A big game by Colts running back Marlon Mack could help keep the high-flying Chiefs offense off the field. But Mack is dealing with an ankle injury.

PICK 5: First to 30 Points – Chiefs (-182)

The Chiefs have scored 30-plus points in three of four games, and the one they didn’t they managed 28. The Colts have finished in the 20s three times but has yet to eclipse the three-oh.

If Indy gets to 30 points, it’s likely in a shootout a scenario in which it’s chasing KC. If neither team gets to 30, the bet is a push.
