5 Dolphins-Steelers Prop Bets & Betting Lines To Back On MNF

The Pittsburgh Steelers get Mason Rudolph back from injury as they play host to the winless Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football in Week 8 of the NFL season.

The Steelers have covered the spread in five of their last six Monday night games, while the Dolphins are on a miserable 1-8 ATS run on Mondays.

  • Total Points By Dolphins — Over 13.5 | -124 (SugarHouse)
  • Longest Field Goal — Under 45.5 Yards | -118 888sport)

PICK 1: Dolphins +14.5

The Dolphins have responded when Ryan Fitzpatrick is under center. They were a failed two-point conversion from beating the Redskins two weeks ago, and had the one-loss Bills on the ropes last week, covering the spread as underdogs each instance.

Meanwhile, Rudolph is back for Pittsburgh but Miami has held most opposing QBs to respectable numbers. While Pittsburgh has been a Monday night powerhouse, it’s also on a 2-7 ATS slide coming off the bye week.

PICK 2: Highest-Scoring Half – Second Half

The Dolphins have shown signs of life since Ryan Fitzpatrick returned as starting quarterback.

When it comes to scoring points, the Dolphins have been better in the first half. But the Steelers have been terrible defending in the second half, allowing 18.8 ppg this season. The other splits on the board are fairly evenly broken down, and Fitzpatrick will heave it downfield if the Dolphins trail in the fourth.

PICK 3: Under 43 points

The Dolphins have performed at a higher level since Fitzpatrick took over the offense, but relatively speaking, that’s still pretty subpar. Rudolph is coming off a concussion and it might take a bit for him to get back into the swing of things. The Under has hit in four of Miami’s last five games and in five of Pittsburgh’s last seven.

PICK 4: Total Points by Dolphins – Over 13.5

The Dolphins don’t have many weapons. But the last two weeks they’ve scored 16 and 21 points. Pittsburgh held the Bengals to three points in a primetime win earlier this year but every other team has managed 17-33 points. Fitzpatrick can lead this offense to a pair of TDs against a Steelers defense that ranks 20th against the pass, even if one comes at the end of a game in which the outcome has been decided.

PICK 5: Longest Field Goal – Under 45.5 Yards

Steelers kicker Chris Boswell hasn’t missed this season, but he hasn’t attempted a field goal over 50 yards, either.

Pittsburgh’s Chris Boswell is a perfect 11-of-11 on field goals, but he has just two attempts over 46 yards and none at 50 yards or longer. Miami’s Jason Sanders is just 1-of-4 on attempts over 40 yards. Miami’s defense may not get enough stops until the red zone, and the Dolphins’ offense should be aggressive in trying to secure win No. 1. Plus, Sanders hasn’t shown the ability to crush the long ball anyway.
