No team has made more headlines this NFL offseason than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the sad-sack franchise that hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2007 and hasn’t won a playoff game in 18 years.

They’re poised to remedy that in a big way. The signing of future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady morphed the Bucs from an NFC afterthought into a popular Super Bowl pick.

Buccaneers & Tom Brady Odds: 4 Prop Bets You Should Back 1

Brady had his worst season in a long time in 2019. He passed for 4,057 yards, his lowest in 10 years, and his 24 TDs tied for the least in a 16-game season. Perhaps age (he’ll be 43 this season) is catching up to the GOAT.

But he’s never had the weapons like this. Ever. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were the most-feared wide receiver tandem in the league, and that was with the wildly inconsistent Jameis Winston, who tossed 30 interceptions.

Now Rob Gronkowski is in the mix, and the Buccaneers revamped their offensive line. Brady, who wants to prove he can get it done without Bill Belichick, has the tools. Winston passed for 5,109 yards last year. Brady may not hit that, but he should hit this total. Take the Over at FanDuel.

Tom Brady — Over 29.5 TDs (-110)

Brady has thrown for at least 29 TDs in 10 of the last 12 years. Now his weapons are bigger, stronger and better. And there are more of them.

The Buccaneers will need to find a running back who can be effective in the passing game or change their game plan to use one. No running backs ranked in the top five in receptions or yards last year in Tampa. But one can emerge, and in the meantime defenses can’t double-team Godwin, Evans and Gronkowski at the same time. Brady will find the one who’s open in the red zone. Take the Over at FanDuel.

Buccaneers In the Playoffs — Yes (-334)

The Saints haven’t gone anywhere, so picking the Buccaneers to win the NFC South is a risk. So is picking the Saints, for that matter — each is hovering just over +100 at most sportsbooks.

So let’s take an easier route. Tampa Bay’s offense is going to be explosive and productive. Last year, the Buccaneers had the No. 1 run defense in the NFL. Pass defense was a big problem, but they used a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on a safety and drastically improved a defensive line that couldn’t generate pressure. The Buccaneers are one of nine top teams vying for seven NFC playoff spots. Brady’s done far more with worse teams. Find the best odds for Yes at BetMGM .

Buccaneers Win The NFC (+700)

Buccaneers & Tom Brady Odds: 4 Prop Bets You Should Back 2

This one offers no certainty, but Brady has given us countless reasons to believe him. The 49ers, Saints and Buccaneers are rightfully at the top of the list of candidates expected to represent the conference in the Super Bowl. I’d put San Francisco and New Orleans ahead of Tampa Bay, as well.

But we haven’t been offered a Brady-led team at these odds in a while. Tampa’s offense will be a top-tier unit. If the new defensive front can get pressure, it should see marked improvement on that side of the ball, too. Back the Bucs to win the NFC at William Hill.
