The Dallas Cowboys led the NFL in scoring and finished 12-5, taking the NFC East title and bouncing back in Mike McCarthy’s second season as head coach following a pair of playoff misses.

There is work to be done to keep the momentum going, with half of last season’s defensive contributors free agents. Dallas will fill a few holes in free agency, but the draft will be critical as well.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has revealed who the Cowboys are most likely to choose with No. 24 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Let's take a look at Adam's projected NFL odds for the Cowboys first selection.

Who Will The Cowboys Take In NFL Draft?

The defensive side offers far more questions, but offensive guard – replacing Connor Williams, specifically – is a top concern.

In the span of a few hours to begin free agency, the Cowboys restructured DE Demarcus Lawrence but lost Randy Gregory to the Broncos, meaning the need for a starting edge rusher in Dallas remains. Still, the priority to add interior linemen and linebacker will likely trump any desire to go DE in the first round, although George Karlaftis from Purdue could be an option at No. 24 if Dallas does indeed go for someone to rush the passer.

Kenyon Green Odds To join The Cowboys

The Cowboys know much about Green, who was the top-ranked high school recruit out of Texas before playing three seasons at Texas A&M. The 6-4, 325-pounder started at every OL position except center for the Aggies and was a first-team All-SEC and first-team All-American selection this year. He allowed one sack in 385 dropbacks in 2021.

Green is a man that can start at guard in Week 1. He can slide in and could be an immediate improvement over departing free agent Connor Williams, at a much lesser cost.

If Iowa OL Tyler Linderbaum is still available at No. 24, he won’t drop past here. He is a plug-and-play guard projected to go anywhere from 14 to 24. The Cowboys would be just fine taking Boston College guard Zion Johnson as well.
