Through three seasons, DK Metcalf has established himself as one of the premier targets in the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks wideout has averaged over 1,000 yards and nearly 10 TDs per season, with 129 targets each of the last two campaigns.

Metcalf is in the final season of his rookie deal and will command a top-tier contract to go with his top-tier game. Seattle may be in the midst of a rebuild, with Russell Wilson already traded to Denver and defensive leader Bobby Wagner gone as well.

Seattle is reportedly listening to offers for both Metcalf and WR Tyler Lockett, but “nothing is imminent”, while Metcalf himself seemingly put the kibosh on leaving town, or at least on going to Kansas City.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has revealed the Week 1 team odds for DK Metcalf. Will he stay in Seattle?

Metcalf is in the final season of his rookie year, and is likely going to command close to Tyreek Hill/Davante Adams money. That’s a big haul and something that would be a struggle cap-wise for both the Packers and Chiefs – they’re the two teams that traded Hill and Adams.

It’s something that likely would need to come as part of a trade, as it did with Hill when he was shipped to the Dolphins for five draft picks. That move shook up NFL betting markets in the AFC and for Super Bowl 57.

It’s not inconceivable Green Bay or Kansas City could make a move, it would just take a lot of roster reshaping to make it happen.

No doubt, the Packers need a WR1 after losing both Adams and WR2 Marques Valdes-Scantling, the latter of whom signed with the Chiefs. KC has added MVS and JuJu Smith-Schuster to catch balls from Patrick Mahomes. Right now, Green Bay’s top three WRs on the depth chart are Juwann Winfree, Allen Lazard and an aged Randall Cobb.

The Packers have two first-round draft picks (Nos. 22 and 28) to add WRs or use as trade bait.

The Jets also have a desire to find a go-to target for second-year QB Zach Wilson. The Bears, Browns, and Colts have significant room to improve in that area, as do the Patriots and Saints, but offering a huge extension would be tough.
