Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have agreed to a deal that will keep the quarterback in Green Bay next season. The news moved the NFL betting price on Green Bay to win Super Bowl 57 significantly.

The reported $200 million contract extension over four years guarantees Rodgers $153 million, although Rodgers has denied those are the terms of the agreement, calling the reports "inaccurate". What is not in doubt is Rodgers will be playing for his third-consecutive MVP award this coming season with the Packers.

The news squashed speculation that Rodgers would be dealt to another team and significantly trimmed the NFL futures price on the Packers to win the Super Bowl and NFC next season.

News of a potential deal broke Monday and the futures markets on betting sites reacted accordingly. The details were reported on Tuesday.

The Packers front office gave Rodgers everything he wanted, within reason, heading into the 2021 season. Still, with all that, Rodgers was plowed under in the snow by San Francisco’s defense in the playoffs. He could only watch as the worst-in-the-universe Packers special teams unit faltered on the frozen tundra.

Speculation concerning Rodgers’ future began immediately after that 13-10 loss to the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round. It flourished after Rodgers won his second-straight MVP. Last offseason, betting apps posted Rodgers “first-snap odds” after the QB and the Packers front office saw their relationship reach peak dysfunction status. This offseason, Rodgers and the Packers were in a much better place.

The Denver Broncos poached Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to be their head coach in February. Denver was the natural next stop for Rodgers if he ended up leaving Green Bay. A Bookies.com oddsmakers analysis of current QB situations across the league that took place before Rodgers' contract extension pegged Rodgers at -150 to stay in Green Bay and +350 to land in the Mile High City.

Given Green Bay’s cap concerns, there are limits on just how much the team can spend around him in 2022. The Packers drafted QB Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 draft. Expect a trade for Love now and a franchise tag for star WR Davante Adams.
