Which active NFL starting quarterback has the best career record against the spread? Stick around and you’ll find out.

We are tracking every NFL starting QB used in the 2023-24 NFL betting season. Each week, we update how much money you would have won or lost backing them ATS on various betting apps each time they've started, including the postseason. We use the standard -110 odds in determining the amount of overall money won.

Through Week 13, 49ers QB Brock Purdy has the best winning percentage against the spread of any starting QB this season with 20 or more career starts. The 49ers are 15-5 (75%) ATS in the 20 games started by Purdy since last season. Bettors backing San Francisco in each Purdy start with $100 would be up $863.50 using standard -110 odds.

Justin Fields has the lowest winning percentage ATS of any QB with more than 20 starts used in 2023. He's just 11-18-1 (36.6%) on the line, costing Bears spread bettors $800.10 had they bet Chicago ATS at -110 in each of this starts.

Here's Every Starting NFL QB's Record Against The Spread 1

A total of 51 starting QB have been used thus far in 2023. Here is a look at the 32 NFL starting quarterbacks used in Week 13 of the 2023 season or the team's most-recent starter listed by their career percentage against the spread, including the postseason. This list will be updated each week. Percentage ties are broken by the amount of money won/loss.

Each QB is listed with his current team, overall record against the spread in 2023, career, cover percentage, and the amount of money a would-be bettor would have won or lost backing them each week of their NFL career, using the above formula.

For this project, we used the archived weekly Las Vegas consensus lines, according to Pro Football Reference.

New Faces, QB Replacements In 2023

Here's Every Starting NFL QB's Record Against The Spread 2

This season, sports bettors in Massachusetts and Kentucky are legally wagering on the NFL for the first time.

Aaron Rodgers of the Jets had started the most games of any active QB heading into the season, now that Tom Brady has retired (again). In his 245 career starts, including the postseason and his brief appearance in Week 1, Rodgers has gone 138-100-7 (56.3%) against the spread. Would-be Rodgers backers for each start during his 17 seasons in Green Bay would be $2,544.20 in the black.

Those who have backed Brady fared well. Brady covered 56.4% of his 381 starts, which includes his 47 games in the postseason. He's gone 215-158-8 all-time ATS. If you were able to bet $100 on Brady every week using the industry standard -110 ATS odds, you would have retired up $3,743.50.

The rookie QBs starting Week 1 in the NFL were: Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis, C.J. Stroud in Houston, and No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young in Carolina.

Teams With More Than One Starting QB In 2023

  • Bears: Undrafted free-agent rookie Tyson Bagent got the call for the injured Justin Fields in Week 6. He won and covered in his first NFL start in Week 7 but had lost 2 straight since. Field has started since Week 10.
  • Bengals: Joe Burrow was lost for the season with a wrist injury during Cincy's Week 11 loss to Baltimore. He was replaced in game by Jake Browning.
  • Browns: Fellow rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson replaced Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) in Week 4. P.J. Walker started for Cleveland in its Week 6 upset of San Francisco and replaced Watson, who got injured again, in Week 7 & 8. Watson started from Week 8 to Week 10, when he was lost for the season to injury. Thompson-Robinson started in Week 11. Joe Flacco became the Browns' 4th starting QB of the season in Week 13.
  • Cardinals: Arizona traded QB Joshua Dobbs to Minnesota after their Week 8 loss to Baltimore. Fifth-round pick and rookie Clayton Tune started in Week 9. Kyler Murray made his 2023 debut in Week 10.
  • Colts: Richardson is out for the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. Gardner Minshew is Indy's QB 1 until further notice. Richardson left Week 2's win over the Texans due to concussion protocols. Minshew started for the Colts in their Week 3 OT win over Baltimore and since Week 6.
  • Falcons: Coach Arthur Smith had enough with Desmond Ridder in Week 8, and replaced him in-game with Taylor Heinicke. But Ridder returned 4 weeks later.
  • Giants: Tyrod Taylor has made the last three starts for Big Blue and went 2-0-1 ATS. He was briefly replaced by Tommy DeVito in Week 8. Daniel Jones was lost for the season with an ACL injury suffered in Week 9. DeVito took over again Week 10.
  • Jets: Zach Wilson replaced Rodgers in Week 2. Wilson lost his starting job ahead of Week 12. Tim Boyle started against Miami on Black Friday.
  • Panthers: Veteran Andy Dalton started the Panthers Week 3 loss to Seattle.
  • Patriots: Bill Belichick finally pulled the plug on Mac Jones ahead of Week 13 in favor of Bailey Zappe.
  • Raiders: Rookie Aidan O'Connell took over for Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 4 for the Raiders before Jimmy G. returned. Garoppolo was replaced by Brian Hoyer in Week 6. Hoyer started in Week 7. After their Week 8 loss, the Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and benched Jimmy G. for likely the last time. O'Connell started in Week 9.
  • Rams: Brett Rypien started for the injured Matthew Stafford in Week 9 but failed to impress in a 20-3 loss at Green Bay. Rypien was subsequently cut and replaced by veteran QB Carson Wentz ahead of Week 10. Stafford returned after the bye in Week 11.
  • Titans: Rookie Will Levis got the nod against Atlanta and became just the third NFL QB to throw 4 TD passes in his debut. Barring injury, that may be it for Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee.
  • Vikings: Kirk Cousins was lost for the season with an ACL injury in Week 8. Jaren Hall started Week 9. The Vikings dealt for Arizona QB Joshua Dobbs at the trade deadline. Dobbs led the Vikings to two victories.

Other QBs Who Have Started In 2023

When QBs are replaced, we'll add the newcomers to the list. Last year, more than 60 different QBs started games in the NFL, so expect the ranks here to grow.

Here's the list of the QBs who have started at least one game in 2023 but did not start in Week 13. They are listed by career-winning percentage ATS.
