Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose. Check out their best bets for today below.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 1:28 Warwick - One Knight

With plenty of excuses for his downturn in form One Knight is poised to bounce back and show some of the promise which was there in bumpers. He put in a couple of very taking performances on the level, and in receipt of a weight from his main challengers he has the chance to return to winning ways under the claimer who was on board for both of those successes.

Tip 2 - 2:03 Warwick - Lucy The Wire

Lucy The Wire has been an impressive hurdler since she started little over 12 months ago, winning three times and finishing second a further four times. The majority of those runs have been over 2m or thereabouts and she most recently won a Class 4 by over nine lengths at that distance. She’s given a 7lb penalty for this but Toby McCain-Mitchell claims 3lbs and dropping back down a grade should help to level things out as well.

Tip 3 - 2:29 Sedgefield - Clean Getaway

Today marks Clean Getaway’s 20th run at Sedgefield, so it’s fair to say he knows his way around the track. He has six wins and three runner-up finishes to show for his previous visits, and would have gone much closer over this course and distance two weeks ago if not for a shuddering mistake three from home. He’s won off 90 and placed with a mark of 97 in the past, so his current rating of 85 suggests he’s weighted to go close today.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
