After leading the Chargers to the playoffs in his first season, head coach Jim Harbaugh has positioned the team to take the next step—potentially ending Kansas City's eight-year reign atop the AFC West.

Los Angeles is loaded at the skill positions and made a notable free-agent acquisition by signing guard Mekhi Becton from the Super Bowl champion Eagles. Becton brings playoff experience and leadership to a rebuilt offensive line designed to protect franchise quarterback Justin Herbert.

Following a major roster overhaul last offseason, the Chargers are approaching this cycle with more restraint. However, a clear need remains at tight end. The team has also shown interest in veteran WR Stefon Diggs to strengthen a receiving corps that includes Mike Williams and second-year star Ladd McConkey.

The Chargers released long-time DE Joey Bosa this offseason. Bosa landed in Buffalo.

As the NFL Draft nears, Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson released NFL odds for the Chargers' No. 22 pick:

Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 NFL Draft Prospect Analysis

Colston Loveland (TE, Michigan)

A polished tight end prospect with a "Year 1 Starter" grade from NFL Next Gen Stats. At 6’6”, 248 lbs, Colston Loveland possesses a wide catch radius and fluid route-running ability. While his speed is average, he profiles as a reliable weapon in the passing game.

Trey Amos (CB, Ole Miss)

Trey Amos has strong upside in press coverage, using his 6’1” frame and quick feet to disrupt routes. Though he requires safety help over the top, he excels in short-range coverage—making him a value pick in a CB-heavy class.

Nick Emmanwori (S, South Carolina)

A rising first-round talent, Nick Emmanwori tested among the best at his position at the combine. He brings elite physical tools, though scouts have flagged inconsistent urgency. The Chargers could look past that if they prioritize potential over polish.

Tyler Booker (G/C, Alabama)

One of the youngest players in the draft, Tyler Booker is a battle-tested lineman with 25 college starts. At 6’5”, 321 lbs, he offers NFL-ready size and production, though he lacks elite athleticism. Still, he could bolster depth on the interior.

James Pearce Jr. (Edge, Tennessee)
A long-term pass-rushing prospect with top-tier explosiveness. James Pearce ranked fourth among edge rushers at the combine and could thrive with added bulk. His upside makes him a candidate to eventually replace a veteran like Joey Bosa.

Matthew Golden (WR, Texas)

A versatile receiver who lined up across the formation, Matthew Golden led Texas with 987 yards and 9 TDs in 2024. Despite a smaller frame (5’11”, 191 lbs), he finished fifth among WRs at the combine, showcasing elite agility and production.

onovan Ezeiruaku (Edge, Boston College)

Donovan Ezeiruaku is a developmental edge rusher with solid fundamentals. While not the flashiest pick, he offers depth and rotational value in a scheme that could use more pass-rushing juice, especially without Bosa.
