The Detroit Lions had a regular season to remember in 2024, going 15-2 overall, winning the NFC North, and coming in first place in the NFC. However, it was a shocking end to the year when the Lions were eliminated in the Divisional Round by the Washington Commanders.

Despite losing in the playoffs, the Lions should still be a top team in 2025, and with QB Jared Goff and head coach Dan Campbell leading the group, look for the team to bounce back and take another run at the Super Bowl.

The Lions have the No. 28 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and will get the chance to scoop up a nice prospect. With the draft looming, Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical NFL odds for who the Lions could choose.

Top Candidates for Pick No. 28

Grey Zabel, G/C, North Dakota St. (+425)

If the Lions want to pick up another offensive lineman, then guard/center Grey Zabel of North Dakota State would be someone they could draft.

Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri (+475)

Should the Lions want to upgrade their wide receiving unit, Luther Burden of Missouri would be a solid pickup.

Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, B.C. (+550)

On the edge, Donovan Ezeiruaku of B.C. would be a solid pickup for the Lions.

James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee (+600)

Another edge rusher the Lions could consider with their first-round pick is James Pearce Jr. of Tennessee.

Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan (+800)

Also on the defensive line is Michigan’s Kenneth Grant, who the Lions could pick in the draft.

Jack Sawyer, Edge, Ohio St. (+950)

It does seem like the Lions could pick an edge rusher in the first round, and Jack Sawyer of Ohio State is another option.

Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M (+1000)

Texas A&M’s Nic Scourton is yet another edge rusher the Lions could choose.

Mike Green, Edge, Marshall (+1000)

Once again, the edge is a position of need for the Lions and Mike Green of Marshall would make sense for the team to draft.

Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss (+1200)

Finally, Walter Nolen of Ole Miss could be another edge the Lions could take a look at.

The Field (+1500)

While it seems likely the Lions will pick someone listed above, they will have tons of different options at pick No. 28, so the field is a possibility for the first-round pick.
