All of a sudden in the thick of things in the NFC East. With a big win over the Giants last week, the Eagles have a chance to be tied at the top of the division with a win over the Redskins.

However, this is a team that has struggled to score points as of late. In their last five games, the Eagles are averaging just 18.6 points per game. Against a solid Washington front-seven, the Eagles may be in for a tough game on Monday Night Football. Here's what NFL betting fans should be considering.

Monday Night Football Week 13 Best Bets

Eagles (-6.5) Over Redskins

Despite losing their quarterback in Week 11, the Washington Redskins (6-5) and still in a position to win the NFC East, even with Colt McCoy at quarterback. While this isn't entirely a "loser leaves town" match yet, it's incredibly close. If Washington can upset the Eagles on Monday night, they will take the lead in the NFC East with a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way. Check out latest Eagles vs Redskins betting odds.

Washington is trying to avoid their third straight loss since the Alex Smith injury. The winner of this game will be in a great position to steal the NFC East and host a playoff game come January.

Monday Night Football Betting Week 13: Redskins at Eagles 1
Philadelphia Eagles running back Josh Adams (33) celebrate his touchdown with offensive guard Isaac Seumalo (73) and offensive tackle Jason Peters (71).

The Eagles enter the game as 6.5 point favorites with 888Sport. Even though Washington had 11 days to prepare for this game, the stage may be too big for McCoy and the rest of the Redskins offense. The Eagles have a lot of talent on their defensive line, and they will be facing an offense that has dealt with injuries all season long.

Considering Washington's lack of firepower on offense, this one has blowout potential in favor of the Eagles. Philadelphia is expected to get Darren Sproles back into the mix, and that could be the difference in this game.

However, Washington's defense has enough talent on the front seven to make things interesting. Expect Washington's defense to keep things close for a while but for the Eagles to pull away at the end and cover. Take the Eagles and give the points at 888Sport.

Over/Under Total (45)

The over/under total for this week is at 45. Considering the two defenses in this matchup and the quarterback play of the Redskins, this total makes sense. The Eagles and Redskins both have sub-par offenses this year as neither is averaging more than 21 points per game.

However, both sides have above average scoring defenses. Philadelphia has battled injuries in their secondary all season long, but it should get cornerbacks, Sidney Jones, and Rasul Douglas, back this week. If those two can stay healthy in December, it could dramatically change their playoff outlook.

Monday Night Football Betting Week 13: Redskins at Eagles 2
Washington Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy (12) throws a pass in the first quarter against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

Washington is going to have trouble moving the ball against this talented front seven of the Eagles. However, receiver Jamison Crowder and running back Chris Thompson may return, and that could provide a boost to this sub-par offense. Those two injuries are something to monitor.

Despite some of the injuries to the Eagles’ secondary, Washington doesn’t scare teams down the field. The offensive line for the Redskins is beaten up and could be missing right tackle Morgan Moses this week, as well.

Expect Washington to play a ball control brand of football to limit McCoy’s exposure in hopes that it will ultimately keep the score down.Take the under with 888Sport.
