New York Giants at Miami Dolphins Picks & Betting Predictions

New York Giants at Miami Dolphins Picks & Betting Predictions

It didn’t look like the change of offensive coordinator had any real effect for the Giants on Sunday as they struggled to 13 points against the Eagles, but the defense once again stepped up turning over Jalen Hurts three times and recovering a Boston Scott fumble to scrape to a 13-7 win.

The Dolphins made it four wins in a row with a dominant defensive performance themselves as they held the Carolina Panthers to just 10 points with Cam Newton getting benched after 5 completions from 21 attempts and 2 interceptions. On the other end of the scale, Tua finished 27-31 with 137 yards and a score to his old ‘Bama teammate Jaylen Waddle.

After the news that Daniel Jones is likely to miss out through injury, the NFL spreads have the home team around a 5-point favorite, (up from 3 with Jones) and with the defensive performances of these teams last week, the NFL betting market has it as the lowest total of the week at a touch over 40, dropping from 41.5 when Jones was expected to play.

Take a look at Dolphins vs. Giants odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Giants vs Dolphins key matchups

Tua Tagovailoa vs Giants pass defense: The Giants secondary has at least one interception in eight straight games, that’s the longest streak in the NFL. They don’t have anyone outstanding there but the unit is working well, if they can turn over Tua they'll have a shot as he’s not yet shown he can chase a game from behind this year.

Myles Gaskin vs Giants run defense: While the Giants pass defense is top 10 in the league, the run defense is quite the opposite, ranking 31st this year. Myles Gaskin has four scores in the last four games and seems to finally be getting the carries as they’ve won each of them.

New York Giants vs Injuries: As it happens they’ve failed this matchup already as Daniel Jones is expected to be ruled out. It’s been a torrid injury year for the Giants, playing without key offensive players throughout the season, but they’ll be hoping to not pick up any more during the game.

Key Giants vs Dolphins stats

Here are some stats to help with your NFL picks this week:

13: Number of consecutive games the Giants defense has created a turnover; they have the longest streak in the league of intercepting opposing QBs with 8.

3-7-1: Over/Under record for the Giants this season. It’s been seven weeks since a Giants game went over the total.

46: Total number of points allowed by the Dolphins during their four-game win streak.

1-4: Over/Unders in the Dolphins wins this season, the one over coming last week as they put up their highest score of the season.

8.6: Average number of targets Jaylen Waddle has per game in his rookie season. His 77 receptions have him fifth in the league this year.

Giants vs. Dolphins Weather Forecast

Unsurprisingly things look pleasant in Miami; 81 degrees, clear, no chance of rain, no need to worry.

Giants vs Dolphins Moneyline

These two have only faced each other eight times in 30 years with the Giants a tasty 7-1 in the history of the contests, their most recent meeting coming in New York in 2019.

Both teams come into this one off the back of wins; the Giants were flattered by their result on Sunday while the Dolphins dominated their game against the Carolina Panthers, although the loss of Christian McCaffrey during that game hindered the Panthers significantly.

The Dolphins defense has finally hit some form and against a backup QB, even an experienced one such as Mike Glennon, they shouldn’t have issues slowing him down. Unsurprisingly we like the Dolphins on the moneyline.

Giants vs Dolphins Point Spread

There is not much to be gleaned from checking records this season. The Dolphins are 6-5-1 ATS and the Giants are at 6-5 ATS, with Miami 3-3 at home so far and the Giants 3-2 on the road.

The best odds from betting apps have the Dolphins -5 at -105 with Caesars Sportsbook. It's going to be tough for New York with Glennon at QB so unless you're a die-hard New York sports betting fan, it's probably worth giving the Giants a miss this week.

Giants vs Dolphins Totals

This game has the lowest total of the week and it’s only getting lower as we move towards game-time. It is currently sitting at 40.5, having opened around 43. While we always try to get the best number, we do think the move is the correct way.

With the recent performances of these teams, we're still happy to take the under in an expected low-scoring affair, especially now Daniel Jones is likely out.

The Dolphins' five wins this year have been largely on the back of excellent defensive performances, while the Giants are stronger on that side of the ball as well.

Both of these teams rank in the bottom 10 in scoring this season, so for that reason take the under; best priced at -108 with FanDuel.
