The NFL continued to tantalize NFL betting fans on Wednesday with another partial schedule release.

The Dallas Cowboys and coach Mike McCarthy will visit Green Bay on Nov. 13. The Week 10 matchup marks the first time McCarthy has returned to the city where he coached the Packers for parts of 13 seasons. Green Bay won Super Bowl 45 during McCarthy's reign, as well. The Cowboys-Packers game will air in the 4:25 p.m. ET slot on FOX.

The full NFL schedule is to be officially released on Thursday. Other potential matchups have begun to litter social media. Thus far, the league has posted its five international games, plus a Week 2 Monday night doubleheader, and one of three Christmas Day games, featuring the Denver Broncos visiting the Super Bowl champion LA Rams.

McCarthy was fired by the Packers in 2018 and surfaced in Dallas for the 2020 season.

Betting sites and betting apps have yet to set a line for the game. Our Bookies.com consensus has the Packers as 4-point favorites with an over/under of 49.5 points.

Mike McCarthy Homecoming To Green Bay

The Cowboys-Packers matchup this season is their first since 2019. The Packers avoided another offseason of turmoil concerning Aaron Rodgers when they locked down the future Hall of Fame QB and two-time defending MVP with a three-year deal worth $101.5 million guaranteed.

The Packers finished the offseason in the net-negative category, having lost WR Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders via trade after Green Bay was unwilling (or unable) to sign Adams to a long-term, lucrative deal. Adams signed a five-year, $141.25M deal with the Raiders, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time.

McCarthy went 10-8 in the playoffs during his run with the Packers, including five straight NFC North titles. McCarthy’s replacement, Matt LaFleur, has begun his career with a 39-10 record and has captured three consecutive NFC North crowns.

According to the 2021 records of their opponents, the Cowboys have the easiest schedule this upcoming season. In addition to their game at Green Bay, they face future FOX Sports analyst Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home.

The Cowboys reached the postseason last year as NFC East champions, only to lose at home to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round 23-17. The loss was particularly bitter for America’s Team after the stellar regular-season performance of Dak Prescott (37 TDs) and the emergence of a young, stout defense.

Cowboys vs Packers Predictions

By this point of the season in Week 10, the Packers should have been able to formulate their offensive gameplan and Rodgers could be on his way to a third-straight MVP. However, the Cowboys have flirted with elite status for two years. If Prescott is able to remain healthy, look for Dallas to come into Green Bay with a lead in the NFC East.

The Cowboys tend to peak sooner rather than later and this Week 10 matchup could end up being their season highpoint. We like Dallas getting anything more than a field goal on betting sites and will lean toward the under given the potential for weather issues in Wisconsin in November.
