With two weeks to go in the 2022 NFL betting season, only four of the 14 postseason slots remain available. But nearly half the league is still in contention. 

A total of 24 of 32 teams remain in the hunt entering Week 17. With the right circumstances, most of those teams could still be playing for something in Week 18, too. 

The NFC South might be decided on Sunday, when Tom Brady’s Buccaneers – alone in first place at 7-8 – host the Carolina Panthers (6-9). The New Orleans Saints (6-9) are at the Eagles and don’t even need to beat the NFC leader to remain in the hunt – as long as Carolina beats Tampa. 

The AFC’s final spot is currently owned by Miami (8-7), but QB Tua Tagovailoa is in concussion protocol and may not play this weekend against New England – one of four 7-8 teams that could sneak past the Dolphins.

The Eagles and Vikings remain in the hunt for the overall No. 1 seed in the NFC, while the Bills, Chiefs and Bengals are in play for No. 1 in the AFC. Meanwhile, five teams remain in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, though the Texans (2-12-1) and Bears (3-12) have the inside track.
