Week 4 of the NFL betting season offers a matchup of 2 AFC wanna-bes.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills visit Baltimore in a game that features a pair of teams that both fell short in the AFC Championship Game in the past 4 seasons.

The Bills began this season with multiple questions, but moved out to a 2-0 start. The Ravens entered the season with sky-high hopes after falling just short in the AFC title game. But they stumbled out of the gate with a loss to the Chiefs, and a stunning defeat by the Raiders at home as 8-point favorites.

Week 2 begins with an NFC East showdown on Thursday night between the Dallas Cowboys and the home New York Giants

The national Sunday 4:25 p.m. game on CBS will be a home-away-home affair for Patrick Mahomes (maybe Taylor Swift) and the Chiefs as they play the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Englewood.

The Monday night doubleheader returns with the early-window game featuring Tennessee at Miami. Seattle ventures into the Lions' Den (aka Ford Field) in the second game.

The Falcons venture into Philly to meet the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night. Expect the locals to be vocal due to the 8:20 p.m. kickoff and ESPN audience.

2024 NFL Week 4 Best Bets To Back Today

NFL Week 4 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back Today 1

Thursday, September 26

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)

Buzz: Turmoil has roiled the NFC East. The Giants appear to be in a full sprint for the No. 1 overall pick next April. The Cowboys were emasculated at home in Week 2. And dysfunction reigns in Philly. This game has explosive potential either way. A Cowboys loss might leave Mike McCarthy stranded at Newark Liberty Airport. If the Giants fizzle (and they will), the MetLife crowd could well be chanting "We Want Belichick!" by half time. The early play here is the under. Especially with an inept Giants offense coming off a short week.

Best Bet: Under 43.5 Points at DraftKings

Sunday, September 29

Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: This won't be much of a cat fight. The Panthers are 6.5-point home dogs for a reason. The thought of Andy Dalton facing the team that once paid him $96 million is an enticing story line. But there's a reason why the Red Rifle has been locked and unloaded. He's become a backup journeyman, playing for his 5th team in the past 6 seasons. Take the Bengals minus the points, as long this line stays under a touchdown. Otherwise, ride the under.

Best Bet: Bengals -6.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Steelers own their first two games despite scoring only one offensive TD. The Steelers defense will control this game, as well. Anthony Richardson has a booming arm. But he's still more or less a rookie QB (it's is his 8th career start) going up against a Mike Tomlin defense. That usually doesn't end well.

Best Bet: Steelers ML (-102) at DraftKings

Denver Broncos at New York Jets, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Jets are coming off a Thursday night game and an extended break at home. The Broncos are in midst of an East Coast swing of sorts, having faced the Bucs in Week 3. The Jets defense against a rookie QB (in Bo Nix) could lead to an ugly affair for the visitors. Meanwhile, look for Aaron Rodgers to play his best game in Jets uniform as he, and BFF/offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, seek payback against Hackett's old team. Asking the Jets to cover a 7.5-point line at home is the stuff of folly, except for this week. It's personal.

Best Bet: Jets -7.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Packers could well have Jordan Love back at QB for this game. so jumping on this line early is the play. The Packers will keep it close at home regardless, And the Vikings outdoors with QB Sam Darnold trying to move the ball across the autumnal tundra in Green Bay will be a challenge.

Best Bet: Packers -2.5 (-115) at DraftKings

Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Bears' defense is helping the offense ease Caleb Williams into the NFL. The Rams could well give Williams the chance to show some of the tools that led him to be taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft. The Rams have been decimated by injuries, losing both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. Look for another typical low-scoring slog along Lake Michigan. The Bears defense has the edge in this one. Keep an eye on this number. Back off if it moves any higher and take the under.

Best Bet: Bears -3 (-110) at DraftKings

NFL Week 4 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back Today 2

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: We may well get Tom Brady in the booth to call a game featuring his most-recent team. FOX does not have a doubleheader this week. Brady's Buccaneers flexed some muscle in Week 2, pulling off a road win at Detroit. The Buccaneers opened as 1-point home dogs. Philly plays at New Orleans in Week 3 and could well enter Raymond James Stadium on a two-game losing streak. The Bucs knocked the Eagles out of the postseason at home in January. Look for a repeat of sorts this week.

Best Bet: Buccaneers ML (-108) at DraftKings

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: An early-season NFC South showdown of consequence. More or less a pick'em on the early board. The Saints should hold the edge in potential offensive score-a-palooza.

Best Bet: Over 46 Points (-110) at DraftKings

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Texans have turned the AFC South on its head in the past year. The Texans are becoming a prohibitive favorite. The Texans are solid in all 3 phases and have a can't-miss kicker. The Jaguars have earned their reputation for inconsistency. Time is starting to run out on Jacksonville coach Doug Pederson if he cannot get Jacksonville back to the postseason. An early-season crucial divisional matchup. Houston holds all the cards here.

Best Bet: Texans -5.5 Points (-110) at DraftKings

New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: This game had the largest spread in the NFL - 11.5 points - when the early-season lines were first posted last spring. It has tightened slightly to 9.5 heading into Week 3 thanks in part to injuries suffered by the 49ers (notably Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel), and in part to a much-better-than-expected season start by the Patriots. The 49ers defense could well pitch a shutout in this game, especially if the Patriots try to keep their offense one-dimensional. Still, 9.5 points is a big number. And the Niners are 4-7 as home favorites in their past 11 tries.

Best Bet: Patriots +9.5 (-105) at DraftKings

Washington Commanders at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Commanders beat the Giants 21-18 in Week 2 without scoring a touchdown. Seven field goals won't be enough against Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. at home. The Cardinals haven't been a home favorite since 2022. As long as this number stays in this range, or tightens, the home team is the play here.

Best Bet: Cardinals -4.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Antonio Pierce is building a monster defense in the desert, anchored by Maxx Crosby. The Browns have made some steps in terms of ingratiating Deshaun Watson. But they aren't anywhere close to where they want to be. The first team to 13 wins it.

Best Bet: Raiders ML (-102) at DraftKings

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz:  A home-away-from-home game for the two-time defending Super Bowl champs. The Swifties should pack SoFi. And perhaps Taylor herself will be in attendance. The Chargers desperately need a win over the Chiefs here if there is any hope for drama in the AFC West this season. This number is a bit tighter than one might expect. The Chiefs lost Isiah Pacheco to IR. Patrick Mahomes has become a master chef in making chicken salad out of a bereft receiving corps. The early play here is KC given the discount onwhat would normally be a 7-point play.

Best Bet: Chiefs -4.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens, 8:15 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: The two top AFC understudies audition for a chance to claim the No. 2 spot in the conference - at least for now. The Bills entered the season facing multiple questions - thanks to major roster overhaul - but opened at 2-0. The Ravens fell agonizingly short in the AFC Championship Game last January. They entered the season with Super Bowl hopes But an 0-2 start was low-lighted by an embarrassing home loss to the Raiders as 8-point underdogs in Week 2. Josh Allen won't be phased in this one.

Best Bet: Bills +1.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Monday, September 30

Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)

Buzz: Will Levis vs. Skylar Thompson. Where's Howard Cosell, Dandy Don, and the Giffer when we need them?

Best Bet: Under 39.5 Points at DraftKings

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions, 8:30 pm. (ABC)

Buzz: Part 2 of the Monday night doubleheader takes us to the Lions' Den, also known as the madhouse that is Ford Field. The Lions are 8-3 as home favorites in their last 11 tries. Things turned ugly quickly in the Motor City. Coach Dan Campbell is putting his house up for sale after his address became public and threats ensued.

Best Bet: Over 45.5 Points (-110) at bet365 Sportsbook
