The Philadelphia Eagles have made the playoffs in four of the last five seasons, but there is room to take that next step.

Philly ranked 12th in scoring and 18th in scoring defense, improving across the board on both sides of the ball in 2021 en route to a 9-8 record.

They can improve dramatically at the 2022 NFL Draft. After a blockbuster trade with the Saints, the Eagles now have two first-round draft picks: No. 15 and No. 18. Philly can fill a lot of specific needs, plus it has future draft capital after giving up its third 2022 first-round pick to New Orleans.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has revealed who he believes the Eagles are most likely to choose with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Who Will The Eagles Take In The Draft?

Offensively, the Eagles could use another target for QB Jalen Hurts, and this is a draft that will have several viable options at 15-20. USC’s Drake London, Ohio State’s Chris Olave, Alabama’s Jameson Williams and Arkansas’ Treylon Burks all could be on the board.

Most of the major needs, however, are on the defensive side, and at every level. Edge rusher, linebacker, cornerback and safety are all potentially in play here.

The Eagles’ defense ranked 31st in sacks and 24th in QB rating allowed. Its 103 QB rating allowed at home was second-worst.

For the Eagles that means “best available defensive player” might be the move at No. 15, with No. 18 a bonus pick that could be for receiver.

Trent McDuffie’s Odds To join The Eagles

For all the issues it may have on defense, defensive back is the top priority. As it stands now, both safety positions and one cornerback spot are unaccounted for. This draft isn’t heavy on marquee safeties, but there are a few corners worth considering this high.

LSU’s Derek Stingley is one of them, but it’s likely he’s gone by No. 15. Washington’s Trent McDuffie is projected to be the No. 3 CB taken. Both of them are expected by scouts to be Day 1 starters. Linebacker is another major need, and at least one of the Eagles’ favored targets at that position should be available at No. 18.

Philadelphia is available around +4000 to win Super Bowl 57 on NFL futures markets. Adding to the defense or pass game with an immediate starter at a critical position could help drop those.
