Two teams from opposite ends of the NFL take to the field at Metlife on Sunday. Having already won the NFC South, the 11-win Buccaneers are chasing the No. 1 seed in the NFC. It looks like they’ll have to go through Lambeau in their hunt for consecutive Super Bowls but all they can do right now is stay healthy.

The Jets dropped in the draft order last week after a narrow win against the dismal Jaguars. The current 5th pick for next season, the best thing they can do right now is avoid injuries and lose out for the rest of the season.

With such a difference in class, we have to dig deep in the NFL betting markets to find selections this week.

Check out the latest Jets vs Buccaneers odds, betting lines, injury report and more.

Bucs vs Jets key matchups

CJ Mosley vs. the world: Given how terrible the season has been for the Jets, there are few high points. But C.J. Mosley leading the AFC in tackles this season shows that things aren’t all bad in the Robert Saleh defense. He’ll have fun against Ronald Jones.

Bucs run D vs. Jets RBs: In a far easier matchup last week the Jets had 30 rush attempts from their RBs with Carter finishing with 116 yards and Coleman 57 yards. They’ll do well to get half of that against one of the league’s best run defenses.

Backup pass catchers vs. Jets pass defense: Injuries have hurt the Bucs with Chris Godwin out for the season and Mike Evans injured/on COVID, but Antonio Brown reveled in his role as WR1 last week and Gronk will always be there. They should be fine against the worst passing defense in the league.

Key Bucs vs Jets stats

Let’s check out some stats to help our NFL picks.

6-2: The Bucs' record against NFL spreads as 10+ point favorites.

2-3: The Jets' record against the spread as 10+ point underdogs this season.

2-6: Over/Under in games where the Bucs are favored by 10 or more points this season.

30-8: Tom Brady’s lifetime record against the Jets.

130 vs -173: Each team's point differential coming into this matchup, a gap of 303 points.

Bucs vs Jets Weather Forecast

Light drizzle is expected, but mild and low winds shouldn’t prove any issue.

Bucs vs Jets Moneyline

There is surely only one winner in this matchup, and as such the odds at betting sites are impossible to bet on, with the Bucs currently at a best price of -625 at TwinSpires.

Of course that’s the most obvious result and there is little chance Brady loses against a rookie QB in such a terrible team, but if you want a massive underdog on the moneyline then you can get +550 at BetMGM. It’s safe to say I wouldn’t back the Bucs as a single, but put it in your parlay for a little bump if you want.

Bucs vs Jets Point Spread

At around a two-touchdown spread there’s a lot to look at. You wouldn’t expect teams to have too many games in a season as favorites of over 10 points but it’s occurred to the Bucs in more than half of their games this season. The fact they've covered in 6 of them suggests that taking them to do the same isn’t the worst bet in the world.

After checking various betting apps, the best line is at Tampa -12.5 at DraftKings. The Jets have been underdogs of 10+ points in 5 games this season, covering in 2 of them and winning one. If you think they keep it closer than expected you can get Jets +13 at -109 with TwinSpires.

This one comes too early for online New York sports betting but keep an eye out for early sign-up offers in the Empire State, especially at BetMGM New York and DraftKings New York.

Bucs vs Jets Totals

The toughest of the main selections to nail down is the total. There’s every chance the Bucs allow under 10 points, so the under is my first look and it’s a relatively high total given the difference in talent on these teams. The worry would be the Bucs running it up and scoring defensive TDs as they turn over the ball.

But with sportsbooks offering Under 46 points at -110, the Under is the bet for me on this one.
