The NHL’s Nashville Predators and DraftKings on Thursday announced a multiyear deal making DraftKings an official sports betting operator and the Daily Fantasy Sports operator of the team.

Tennessee launched its online sports betting mark on Nov. 1 with four operators: DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel and local operator Action 247.

The NHL is targeting Jan. 13 as the start date for the 2021 season, according to reports, but a lot of details still need to be worked out for the league to begin then.

“As soon as the Tennessee Sports Gaming Act was passed in April, we immediately began our search for an experienced sports betting partner,” Chris Junghans, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Predators, said in a news release. “With legal sports betting now live in Tennessee, we are thrilled to announce our formal relationship with industry-leading DraftKings. Through this multi-year agreement, Predators fans across the state will have access to the gold standard of sports betting information technology, which provides a competitive, reliable and responsible platform.”

DraftKings branding and content will be integrated throughout Bridgestone Arena — the Predators’ home arena, according to the news release. DraftKings sports betting lines will be displayed during pre-game and in-game radio spots.

More About DraftKings & the Deal

The Predators and DraftKings will also partner on digital and social media content, with DraftKings takeovers of the Predators homepage, app integration and social media giveaways, the release said. The team and sportsbook are also offering a deposit bonus of up to $1,000 when signing up with DraftKings Sportsbook by downloading the DraftKings mobile app.

“After recently launching the top-rated DraftKings Sportsbook app in Tennessee, we are thrilled to continue our momentum in the state by announcing our latest team deal with the Nashville Predators,” Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer for DraftKings, said in the release. “As a result of this collaboration, Predators fans will get the full DraftKings experience both on and off the ice as we look forward to the return of hockey season.”

DraftKings and the NBA’s Detroit Pistons announced a partnership deal on Nov. 30. Michigan’s online sports betting market is expected to launch in early 2021. The gaming company also has betting partnerships with the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, along with a Daily Fantasy Sports partnership with the Boston Celtics. It has other DFS partnerships and DraftKings is an authorized gaming operator of the NBA and MLB and an official betting operator of the PGA Tour.

Tennessee Sponsorships & More Operators

BetMGM and the Tennessee Titans announced a partnership on Sept. 28. It was the state’s first official partnership between a professional sports team and a sports betting platform.

Just one day after launching in Tennessee, FanDuel announced a sports betting and daily fantasy sports partnership with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. It was the first sports betting partnership for the Grizzlies and made them the first NBA team to partner with FanDuel.

William Hill, BetAmerica and WynnBet have also applied for Tennessee sports betting licenses. At least three other operators have begun the application process, according to published reports.
