The new Premier League season is nearly here and it is sure to be as thrilling and competitive as ever and ripe for soccer betting.

Manchester City, the EPL futures favorite, made it back-to-back title successes after a gripping title race with Liverpool as both sides showed remarkable consistency and those two again look to be the two to catch this season.

At the other end of the table Aston Villa, Norwich and Sheffield United make welcome returns to the top flight and they will be determined to ensure they are not short-lived returns to English football's top table.

As normal there are plenty of EPL betting opportunities along the way in the season and here are my best ante-post picks for the start of hopefully a dramatic and memorable 2019/20 campaign.

Man City, Liverpool to Finish First/Second: +110

Last season's title race was one of the most fiercely and thrilling in recent years with Manchester City edging Liverpool out by one point and I reckon it will a battle between Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Guardiola’s City once again this season in 2019/20.

Both sides were head and shoulders above the rest of the Premier League and although their rivals have spent big in the transfer market to try and close the gap, but the top two look like they are beginning to build up a rivalry which could dominate the Premier League for the foreseeable future.

City and Liverpool are head and shoulders above the pack until proven otherwise.

City are aiming for their third straight title success and it hard to see anyone stopping them doing it. Liverpool will find it hard to replicate the consistency of last season as they look to end their long wait for a Premier League title success and bring the trophy their fans crave the most back to the Premier League.

It might not be as close as last time but the status quo should remain the same with City clinching the title and Liverpool finishing as runners up.

Jamie Vardy to be Top Goalscorer: +2000

Jamie Vardy is now a proven goalscorer in the Premier League having scored 62 goals in his last three seasons and I expect him to be among the goals again this season. Vardy has retired from international football so that he can focus on club duty and that can only benefit Leicester and boost his chances of being among the top scorers in the Premier League.

Vardy will no doubts be Brendan Rodgers' main striker this term and he thrived under Rodgers' attacking style of football with nine goals in 10 games under Rodgers at the end of last season. Vardy will also be penalty kick duty for Leicester and with the Foxes tipped to enjoy a successful campaign Vardy should have plenty of goalscoring opportunities.

Arsenal to Finish Top-4: +125

Arsenal just missed out on the top four last season in Unai Emery's first season in charge at the Emirates, but I believe they can go one better this season. The Gunners had a top four place in their hands last season only to let it slip away with some costly defeats in the final weeks of the season.

Emery will be better for his first year of working in the Premier League and the Spaniard has done some good business in the transfer market with Dani Ceballos adding creativity to their midfield and Nicolas Pepe having the potential to be a superstar in the Premier League.

Arsenal's home form was amongst the best in the league last season with only their away form letting them down and if Emery can make them harder to beat on their travels they can claim a coveted top four spot this season.

Everton to Finish Top-6: +350

Do not rule out Everton to possibly finish in the Top 4 after a solid transfer window.

Everton finished in eighth spot in Marco Silva's first season in charge and they showed major signs of improvement under the Portuguese to indicate they can break into the top six this season.

Everton have done some smart moves in the transfer window signing Andre Gomes on a permanent deal and also bringing in Fabian Delph; Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Moise Kean. Everton produced some impressive results against some of the Premier League big boys last season and if they can find some consistency to their performances they should be able to make inroads into the top six.

Everton finished last season strongly and if Silva can get the Toffees off to a good start this season they could be hard to stop.

Sheffield United, Norwich, Brighton to be Relegated: +800 Parlay

Premier League new boys Sheffield United and Norwich face an uphill battle to secure survival this season and they could be joined by Brighton in suffering relegation this season.

Although Sheffield United and Norwich will head into the season with plenty of optimism after winning promotion last season the stark reality is that the gulf in class in the Premier League is huge.

Both Premier League new boys have also not spent too heavily in the transfer market this summer and their squads do not look strong enough to compete against the rest. Brighton narrowly avoided relegation last season and Chris Hughton paid the price by losing his job.

Graham Potter has been brought in by Brighton to produce a more attacking side, but his lack of Premier League points to another season of struggle on the South Coast and this time they could fall through the Premier League trapdoor.

Most US sportsbooks don’t offer relegation as a group, but one can bundle the three together into a parlay.

Moise Kean to be Everton’s Top Scorer: +125

Everton have been crying out a top striker for a couple of season and Italian forward Moise Kean could finally be the answer to Everton's problems. Everton have pulled off something of a coup to land Kean from Juventus this summer as the Italian international has showed real promise for club and county at the tender age of 19.

Kean had a ratio of one goal every 89 minutes at Juventus and he has scored two goals in three games for Italy to outline his finishing ability. Kean has all the attributes to be a success in England as he is quick and physical and although it may take him time to settle into a new country he is sure to be Everton's main source of goals.

With the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson providing the ammunition for Kean the striker will be confident of hitting at least double figures in his first season at Goodison Park.
