Another US Open is in the books after a life-changing week for Wyndham Clark. But the golf betting and daily fantasy action isn’t slowing down for a second entering the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.

This is an elevated event for 2023, drawing a star-studded field with eight of the top 10 players in the world ready to tee it up in Cromwell, Connecticut. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the highest-priced player in the field at $11,300 – he now has five consecutive top-five finishes and 17 straight results of T-12 or better.

Clark is still in the field after pulling off the stunning major victory, during which he held off the likes of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Rickie Fowler to top the board at Los Angeles Country Club. He’s listed at $9,200 on DraftKings, above players like Fowler ($9,100), Matthew Fitzpatrick ($9,000), Max Homa ($8,900) and Justin Thomas ($8,800).

Best 2023 Travelers Championship DFS Picks By Price

12K-9K Range

Rory McIlroy, $10,900: McIlroy wasn’t able to end the major drought in Los Angeles, but he couldn’t have come much closer with a solo second finish. He led the field in Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green for the week and just couldn’t get anything to drop when it mattered on over the weekend.

That’s been the story at too many big tournaments lately, but it should position him for another great week at the Travelers. McIlroy has been top-20 in all four prior starts at TPC River Highlands and he’s our pick to win in Connecticut.

Tommy Fleetwood, $9,300: As for the more affordable options in this range, Fleetwood seems like the most sensible option. He was second in the field in Strokes Gained Approach at LACC and has been on a tear with three top-5 finishes in his last five starts – including a T-5 at the US Open and solo second at the RBC Canadian Open.

He doesn’t have a ton of course experience here, with a T-13 and T-46 in two prior starts, but any track is a great fit when you’re swinging as well as Fleetwood is right now. Get him in the lineup.

9K-8K Range

Justin Thomas, $8,800: This is looking more and more like a lost year for Thomas, and the US Open may have been rock bottom. He lost strokes everywhere other than around the greens and missed the cut at +14 in what has to have been one of the worst ballstriking weeks of his career.

It also marked the first time Thomas has missed back-to-back cuts since he missed three straight in 2017. He responded by winning two of his next four events, including the PGA Championship. Players as talented as Thomas don’t stay down for long, and last week might actually help him get things going in the right direction again. We wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Thomas contend.

Hideki Matsuyama, $8,600: We’re going with Matsuyama for the second week in a row. He had a brutal putting week at the US Open, which isn’t exactly breaking news, but he led the field in Strokes Gained Approach and hit it well enough to finish T-32.

He’s never played this tournament before but should thrive at a course where putting isn’t as important and the fairway-finders and ballstrikers are rewarded. He’s made eight cuts in a row and we expect another great week at TPC River Highlands.

8K-7K Range

Harris English, $7,700: The 2021 Travelers winner comes to Connecticut in solid form after a T-8 showing at the US Open. He finished second in the field in Strokes Gained Putting, which could be considered fluky for some, but English putts out of his mind with regularity and has one of the best short games on Tour.

He also loves this golf course, with four top-25 finishes in nine starts. He’s also been T-13 or better in four of his last six starts. We’re high on English.

Austin Eckroat, $7,300: Eckroat won’t stay in this price range for long if he keeps playing like this. The 24-year-old Oklahoma State product finished T-10 last week in just his second ever major start, and he actually lost strokes on the green. Eckroat keeps it in play off the tee, he’s an above-average ballstriker and he’s playing great with four consecutive top-30 finishes. Get him on the cheap while you still can.

7K and Below

Kevin Streelman, $6,800: Streelman didn’t do much of anything early this year, but we’ve seen some big improvements throughout the bag lately. The 44-year-old has finished with positive Strokes Gained Approach in four straight tournaments, including last week during a T-49 finish at LACC.

One of his best ballstriking weeks coincided with one of his worst putting performances, but we’ve seen solid overall play in a T-18 at the Wells Fargo and T-9 at the Charles Schwab. This course has also been very good to him over the years, with five top 10s, a runner-up and a win in 15 starts.

Nick Hardy, $6,700: Hardy has solid overall numbers on the season, and he’s coming off one of his better starts in a T-20 finish at the US Open. He didn’t lose strokes in any category and that speaks to his all-around game.

It should translate well here, where Hardy finished T-8 last season. He was part of a winning Zurich Classic team two months ago and he’s capable of making things happen when the putts are falling. One could certainly do a lot worse in this price range.
