College Football Week 3 Best Bets

College Football 2024 Week 3 Odds, Predictions & Other Bets to Make Today 1

Arizona at Kansas State
Friday, Sept. 13 (8 p.m., Fox)

Buzz: Friday the 13th offers a rare Week 3 matchup of ranked teams. This game will be terrific test for both schools, as each wants to inject itself into the Top 12 and possible CFB playoff consideration. Even though both of these teams are in the new-and-improved Big 12 - it won't count in the conference standings. It was set before the mass realignment of the Power 4 conferences. This one offers a classic matchup featuring a high-powered offense in Arizona and tough defense in Kansas State. Arizona is 5-0 straight up in its past 5 games which it was an underdog of 7+ points and 6-1 overall ATS in those same spots.

Pick: Arizona +7 (-110 bet365)

Alabama at Wisconsin
Saturday, Sept. 14 (12 p.m., Fox)

Buzz: The Tide visits Wisconsin in a rare game played north of the Mason-Dixon Line. Fortunately for Alabama, the weather this time of year in Madison is close to perfect. Both teams have been unimpress thus far. Alabama struggled at home against USF before pulling ahead in the 2nd half last week. Alabama led just 14-13 after 3 quarters The Badgers (-28 and -18.5) failed to cover against Western Michigan and South Dakota Saturday. This line has moved a point toward Wisconsin's favor at 15.5 points. This time, the Tide will wear down the host Badgers and pull away in the 2nd half for the cover.

Pick: Alabama -15.5 (-110 bet365

LSU at South Carolina
Saturday, Sept. 14 (12 p.m., ABC)

Buzz: Brian Kelly needs another get-right game and hopes to find it in Columbia. The Gamecocks need to keep winning to escape the SEC purgatory in which they currently inhabit. LSU rolled a 7 in Las Vegas in a tough loss to the other USC before last week's cupcake win over Nicholls State. South Carolina is 2-0 and is coming off an impressive 31-6 win over SEC foe Kentucky. South Carolina led 10-6 at half before notching a 31-6 win. The Gamecocks are a touchdown dog at home. ESPN Game Day is bringing the party to Columbia this week. Williams–Brice Stadium will the rocking. As will the Gamecocks.

Pick: South Carolina +7 (-115 bet365

West Virginia at Pitt
Saturday, Sept. 14 (3:30 p.m., ESPN2)

Buzz: The "Backyard Brawl" is another big-time rivalry moved up in the season due to realignment. West Virginia struggled early against Penn State and count not recover. Pitt offers a bit less of a challenge. This should be the 2024 coming out party for Jahiem White and CJ Donaldson. The experienced West Virginia offensive line will be able to open some big holes for both. West  Virginia will focus on stopping Pitt's rushing game.

Pick: West Virginia -2.5 (-115 bet365)

Boston College at Missouri
Saturday, Sept. 14 (12:45 p.m., SEC Network)

Buzz: Billy Ball is all the rage on Chestnut Hill these days. Coach Bill O'Brien has a a hard-nosed, physical form of football to The Heights. And his players appear to be all-in. The Eagles are ranked (No. 24) for the first time since 2022, smoked Florida State in the opener and took care of Duquesne 56-0. Another test for O'Brien's Eagles, this time with an SEC foe. The Tigers are 2-0 but have yet to face a serious opponent. Something has to give in this one. Missouri is 24-0 ATS as 16.5-point or greater favorites. Meanwhile, BC has covered in 13 straight as underdogs of 16.5 points or more. BC is going to keep the ball on the ground and try to stay close in Columbia. We'll take the points.

Pick: Boston College +16.5 (-110 bet365)

Georgia at Kentucky
Saturday, Sept. 14 (7:30 p.m., ABC)

Buzz: 'Cats vs. Dawgs. Georgia formally begin its run at another SEC crown on the road against an always-tough-at-home Wildcats squad. Every team Georgia faces this season has UGA marked as its "biggest game of the year." Kentucky got demolished last week by South Carolina. Kirby Smart is all-in on another national title. Georgia boats a top-tier defense and a QB in Carson Beck who can sling it. He's got 7 TDs and no picks. With the expanded playoff and the larger-than-ever SEC this season. don't expect teams like UGA to let up when they get a big lead. It's not in their best interest. The Dawgs back plenty of bite and bark. Even at always-tough Kroger Stadium.

Pick: Georgia -24 (-110 bet365)
