Friday Wimbledon Men's Semifinal Predictions & Best Bets

Novak Djokovic vs Cameron Norrie - 8:30 AM ET

Novak Djokovic overcame Jannik Sinner in a five-set marathon, storming back from two sets down to clinch the 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win. Things looked dire for the three-time defending Wimbledon champion after dropping the first two sets. But Djokovic is one of the game’s greatest fighters, battle-tested and hardened, and beating him in a best-of-five has to be one of the greatest challenges in sport, let alone tennis.

This is the challenge before Britain’s Cameron Norrie, if he hopes to reach the Wimbledon final. To get a proper sense of the scale of this challenge, look at the odds boards of various sports betting sites where Djokovic is ensconced as the monumental favorite – from -1429 with BetMGM to as high as -2000 with FanDuel.

Only a few years ago, Norrie was slogging his way through tennis obscurity, ranked outside of the Top 50 and looking at a decent but rather unspectacular tennis career. Not even in the wildest of dreams could anyone have predicted Norrie’s rising star. And yet, here he is. In his maiden grand slam semifinal carrying the hopes of a nation on his shoulders.

It’s been a magical ride but it’s hard to see it continuing at the expense of Djokovic. This should be a straightforward contest for the Serbian in his bid to reach a fourth straight Wimbledon final.

Best Bet: Djokovic -7.5 at (-105) with Caesars Sportsbook

Rafael Nadal vs Nick Kyrgios -  10:30 AM ET

Unfortunately due to Nadal's abdominal injury we have been denied the opportunity to watch what would have been a fascinating clash. Kyrgios will now appear in his first Grand Slam final, where he awaits the winner of Djokovic vs Norrie.

Kyrgios is the first person in the open era to get a walkover into a Wimbledon final and as a result he'll be well rested heading into Sunday's showdown. The betting apps predict his opponent will be Djokovic.
