The week begins with an OG NFL matchup between the Chicago Bears and host Detroit Lions. The Cowboys and Giants meet in the annual Turkey Day game at Dallas. Thursday night, the Dolphins visit the Packers on the chilled tundra of Lambeau Field.

The Chiefs go shopping on (Silver and) Black Friday for victory over the Raiders

The national game of the week on Sunday gives us a peek at a possible Super Bowl preview. The Philadelphia Eagles visit the Baltimore Ravens (4:25 p.m. on CBS).

San Francisco tries to stay alive in the NFL playoff race but has to beat the Bills in Buffalo to do so. Monday night, the Browns come off a mini-bye and their magical win in the snow to visit the Denver Broncos

There are no teams on the bye this week.

2024 NFL Thanksgiving Week Best Bets

NFL Week 13 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back: Happy Thanksgiving 2

Thursday, November 28
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions. 12:30 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Lions are playing for home-field and a first-round bye in the NFC. The crowd at Ford Field is ready to pass the stuffing – but not before Dan Campbell and the Lions roar against their OG NFL rivals. The Lions demolish inferior teams both straight up and on the line. Detroit has covered both double-digit lines it faced this season with ease. The Bears were able to push the now 9-2 Vikings to overtime at home before losing 30-27, covering on the hook at -3.5. The hook is a concern here, so shop around. Detroit won and covered in a 24-6 snoozer at Indy. The Colts are 10-1 SU and 9-2 ATS. We've returned to them each week this season and don't plan to stop now. Campbell and the Lions have long demonstrated that he coaches his team to play the full 60 minutes. And leaves room for dessert.

Best Bet: Lions -9.5 (-118) bet365

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys. 4:30 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The loser gets Bill Belichick. But does Bill Belichick want the loser? Thankfully – befitting of the day – this game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. EDT. That means most folks in the Eastern and Central Time Zones would have already eaten holiday dinner. Let the tryptophan flow. It’s nap time. The rest of the nation will lose its appetite for football – if not turkey – by halftime. The Giants officially tapped out on the season in their even-embarrassing-for-the-Giants 30-7 home loss to Tampa Bay. Daniel Jones is gone. Tommy Cutlets got deep-fried by Baker Mayfield and the Bucs. The Giants are tied for the best get-right team in New Jersey with the Jets. Meanwhile, the Cowboys kept Mike McCarthy employed with a crazy 36-38 win and cover at Washington. Dallas is winless at Jerry World this season. That ends today. Turducken, anyone?

Best Bet: Cowboys -3.5 (-115) FanDuel

Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers. 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: After the nearly indigestible NFL afternoon menu, we get a tasty offering for dessert. A team from South Florida visits Northern Wisconsin on Thanksgiving night. The skies will be clear, but temperatures are expected to fall into the 20s. The Packers missed on 4 straight covers before wrecking the depleted 49ers in an easy 38-10 win and cover. The Dolphins ran a scrimmage to beat New England 34-15 Sunday. But they can be had by a quality opponent, especially on the road. Miami has failed to cover in 5 of 6 games against teams with a winning record but has covered in 4 straight games. The Packers are 8-3 SU but only 5-6 on the line. Still, they hold the edge running the ball against Miami. And that means keeping Tua off the field. And slowing things down.

Best Bet: Packers -3 (-115) bet365

NFL Week 13 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back: Happy Thanksgiving 3

Friday, November 29
Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs. 3 p.m. (Amazon Prime)

Buzz: Call it Silver and Black Friday on Amazon Prime. The Raiders visit Kansas City in what has become a new NFL holiday tradition – along with Christmas games buffering, er streaming, on Netflix. The 10-1 Chiefs took their loss in Week 11 on the road at Buffalo. KC needed a field goal at the gun to escape from Charlotte Sunday, whiffing badly on another double-digit line. The Chiefs barely beat the Broncos 16-14 after a blocked field goal at the gun. Eight of KC’s 10 wins are by less than one score. Incredibly, KC is now under .500 at 5-6. Isiah Pacheco should be back this season, boosting KC's backfield. The Raiders lost Gardner Minshew for the season in their 29-19 loss to Denver (-5.5). Desmond Ridder starts for Vegas on Friday. Las Vegas (2-9) has lost 7 straight games. The Raiders have failed to cover in 5 of 7 games, despite getting points in each one. This number is simply too big for the Chiefs, and not big enough for the Raiders. KC needs to get its offense rolling for the playoffs. It starts here.

Best Bet: Over 42.5 Points (-105) FanDuel

NFL Week 13 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back: Happy Thanksgiving 4

Sunday, December 1
Seattle Seahawks at New York Jets, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Speaking of leftover turkeys, the Jets play host to another one of their former quarterbacks this week in Geno Smith. The veteran QB played his first 4 seasons for Gang Green. Smith is well aware of what awaits in the chill and wind swirls of Northern New Jersey. The Jets have lost 7 of 8 games and failed to cover 6 straight times against NFC opponents and continue their decade-plus tailspin this season. They sit 3-8 SU and ATS coming off the bye and dismissal of GM Joe Douglas. Aaron Rodgers is like that guy in the famous “Twilight Zone” episode who dies and gets everything he wants. Only then does he realize he’s not in heaven. But that other place. The Seahawks - surprise, surprise - lead atop the log-jammed NFC West. For the second week in a row, we'll back the bird on the moneyline.

Best Bet: Seahawks ML (-120) bet365

Los Angeles Chargers at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Falcons don’t seem like a team that wants to win the NFC South, despite having the opportunity to distance themselves from the pack. Atlanta comes off the bye and consecutive losses to the Saints (20-17) and Broncos (38-6). The Chargers’ defense adds some needed juice to Jim Harbaugh’s team and takes much of the burden off Justin Herbert's offense. The Bolts boast the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL, giving up just 14.5 PPG ahead of their Monday night game against Baltimore. The Falcons have failed to cover in 7 straight games against AFC opponents. Still, the Chargers are heading cross-country after a Monday night game. And the Dirty Birds had a week off to feather their nest.

Best Bet: Falcons +1.5 (-110) DraftKings

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Steelers (8-3) come off the mini-bye after being left in the snowbank by Jameis Winston and the Browns. This AFC North matchup doesn’t carry nearly as much hate as the one between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. The Bengals (4-7) continue their slow and painful disintegration. They come off the bye following crushing a one-point loss to the Ravens and a one-score loss to the Chargers. Cincy blew a 21-point lead in the second half in their loss to LA. The Steelers have covered in 8 of 11 games this season. Pittsburgh has won 4 straight outright as betting underdogs. And the Bengals have to cover in 4 of 5 games at home.

Best Bet: Steelers +2.5 (+100) bet365

Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Bettors have enjoyed a solid return backing the Cardinals and Vikings this season. Each team went 7-3 ATS in its first 10 games but failed to cover this past weekend. The Cardinals won SU and ATS in their past 4 before being kept out of the end zone in a 16-6 loss at Seattle. The Cardinals have lost 11 straight to the Vikings on the road. But we don’t like this number in a game that could well be decided on a last-second kick. Minnesota was pushed to OT by the Bears in a 30-27 win Sunday at Soldier Field, but failed to cover on the hook at -3.5 The 9-2 SU Vikings defense is still No. 1 against the run and No. 5 in points allowed. More woe for Kyler Murray & Company on the road.

Best Bet: Under 46.5 Points (-110) FanDuel

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Colts were tied with the most wins ATS (8) in the NFL this season before being tossed into the wood-chipper by Detroit in Week 12 in a 24-6 home loss.  A year ago, the Patriots imploded in a loss 10-6 to the Colts in Munich. Turns out, that game sealed the fate of Bill Belichick and QB Mac Jones. This season, the Patriots have a new coach and a new QB. This might finally be the game in which Drake Maye is given the keys to the Patriots’ offense that he earned weeks ago. The Patriots were demolished Sunday at Miami. The defense gave up 24 points in the first half in the 34-15 humiliation. Like the Jets and Giants, the Patriots have become one of those "get right" teams for opponents. This could well be Anthony Richardson's 2024 breakout game. The Colts have lost 7 straight at Gillette Stadium. That ends this weekend, as the Colts extend their run of covering in 7 of 8 games against AFC opponents.

Best Bet: Colts -2.5 (-118) DraftKings

Tennessee Titans at Washington Commanders, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Remember the Titans? They upset the NFC South-leading Texans 32-27 on the road Sunday. The Titans overcame 3 turnovers and were boosted by a late missed field goal. The Titans have the best-passing defense in the NFL, but the third-least potent passing offense. The Commanders have hit a major pothole patch with consecutive losses to Pittsburgh, Philly, and Dallas. That means there's enough game film now on rookie QB Jayden Daniels. (Just make sure you defend on those late-game 'Hail Marys.') The Commanders are still in the midst of the NFC Wildcard race.  The difference here will be Washington’s running game and its defensive front. By the way, Tennessee has failed to cover in 9 straight games after a win.

Best Bet: Commanders -5.5 (-110) bet365

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: A cool and clear late fall afternoon greets the visiting Texans. Ideal weather for football. The Jaguars come off the bye at a respectable 6-5 ATS. But they’re just 2-9 ATS and have lost 4 straight. And gave up an embarrassing 52 points to Detroit. They've their last 10 games straight-up as underdogs. The Texans skidded at home in a 32-27 home loss to Tennessee. That pushed this line in the right direction for those interested in the Texans. The road team in this series has covered each of the last 6 matchups. Make it 7.

Best Bet: Texans -5.5 (-110) DraftKings

Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Two underperforming teams play in the background on Sunday Ticket while you’re shopping on your phone. The Saints are coming off the bye and back-to-back wins over the Falcons and Browns. The Rams had 4 of 5 but got trucked 37-20 by Saquon Barkley and the Eagles Sunday night. Still, the Rams are just one game out in the wacky NFC West and in the midst of the wide-open NFC.  Matthew Stafford in a dome is always a tough out. Especially up against what will be an overmatched New Orleans secondary. If LA can keep New Orleans' rushing game in check, it will get the bounce-back win. The Rams have won 7 straight games outright as betting favorites.

Best Bet: Rams ML (-130) DraftKings

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Panthers nearly upset Kansas City on Sunday before losing 30-27 after another Patrick Mahomes patented last-minute comeback and a KC field goal at the gun. Carolina easily covered the 11.5-point number.  Baker Mayfield and the Bucs can score, especially against softer defenses. Tampa Bay left Big Blue black-and-blue at MetLife Stadium in a 30-7 win Sunday. The Bucs led that game 23-0 at the half. The Bucs have covered in 4 straight against NFC opponents. Tampa Bay's offense ranks in the top 10 in passing (7th), rushing (10th), and scoring (4th). The Panthers have the worst defense in the NFL against the pass and in points allowed. Look for Baker to cook up some nifty holiday desserts here. Bryce Young should be good for at least 3 scoring drives, as well.

Best Bet: Over 46 Points(-110) DraftKings

Philadelphia Eagles at Baltimore Ravens, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The CBS national game of the week offers a potential Super Bowl 59 preview. The Eagles (9-2 SU, 74 ATS) are steadily reaching altitude after a choppy start. Philly has won 7 games straight up, coming off a wrecking-ball 37-20 rout of the Rams at SoFi Stadium Sunday night. Baltimore has underperformed on the line, going 5-5-1 ATS and 7-4 SU in its first 11 games. The Eagles' defense matches up well against Baltimore’s passing and rushing game. Or as well as one can against Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. The same holds when the Eagles look to run, even as Saquon Barkley has become the Derrick Henry of the NFC. Baltimore’s secondary remains a real liability. An interception-free performance from Jalen Hurts will deliver the win and cover here. Take Philly and the points, just to be safe.

Best Bet: Eagles +2.5 (+108) DraftKings

San Francisco 49ers at Buffalo Bills, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: The 49ers have been flirting with disaster in true “Molly Hatchet” form all season. This year's version of the 49ers offers further proof that losing the Super Bowl takes at least a full season from which to recover. An injury-decimated version of the 49ers turned the ball over 3 times and was curb-stomped by Josh Jacobs and the Packers 38-10 Sunday at Green Bay. SF was without QB Brock Purdy, tackle Trent Williams, and Nick Bosa. Purdy is expected back this week. Still, the 49ers are 5-6 SU and 4-7 ATS. Yikes. Josh Allen may have clinched MVP honors with his game-winning dash against the Chiefs. Buffalo will follow Green Bay's blueprint and keep the ball moving and on the ground. The Bills are making what will be a last run for the Super Bowl with this bunch. We locked this one at 3 points on the early line. It spiked to 6.5 Sunday night. Still, the Bills (9-2, 7-4 ATS) have covered in 5 of 6 games.

Best Bet: Bills -6.5 (-110) bet365

Monday, December 2
Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos, 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)

Buzz: The Browns won their Super Bowl in the snow against Pittsburgh. Jameis Winston is back in prime time this week. He and the Browns visit Denver coming off the mini-bye. There won’t be any adverse conditions this week weather-wise like we saw in the Huntington Bank Field snow globe. The Broncos are 9-3 on the line. That's the best record on the line of any team in the AFC. And they've covered in 6 straight games as favorites. Denver's defense stiffened at the goal line to secure a 5.5-point cover in a 29-19 win at Las Vegas Sunday. Impressive. Denver QB Bo Nix continues to pull away in the NFL OROY race. He's completed 64.9% of his pass attempts and has 16 TDs against just 6 picks. The Broncos rarely turn the ball over. And will outlast the Browns here.

Best Bet: Broncos -4.5 (-120) bet365
