Week 4 of the NFL betting season offers a matchup of 2 AFC wanna-bes.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills visit Baltimore in a game that features a pair of teams that both fell short in the AFC Championship Game in the past 4 seasons.

The Bills began this season with multiple questions, but moved out to a 2-0 start. The Ravens entered the season with sky-high hopes after falling just short in the AFC title game. Baltimore held off Dallas at Jerry World in Week 3. But they stumbled out of the gate with a loss to the Chiefs, and a stunning defeat by the Raiders at home as 8-point favorites.

Week 2 begins with an NFC East showdown on Thursday night between the Dallas Cowboys and the home New York Giants

The national Sunday 4:25 p.m. game on CBS will be a home-away-home affair for Patrick Mahomes (maybe Taylor Swift) and the Chiefs as they play the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Englewood.

The Monday night doubleheader returns with the early-window game featuring Tennessee at Miami. Seattle ventures into the Lions' Den (aka Ford Field) in the second game.

The Falcons venture into Philly to meet the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night. Expect the locals to be vocal due to the 8:20 p.m. kickoff and ESPN audience.

NFL Week 4 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back Today 1

Thursday, September 26

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)

Buzz: Turmoil has roiled the NFC East. The Giants appear to be in a full sprint for the No. 1 overall pick next April. The Cowboys were emasculated at home in Weeks 2 and 3. A Cowboys loss might leave Mike McCarthy stranded at Newark Liberty Airport. If the Giants fizzle, the MetLife crowd could well be chanting "We Want Belichick!" by half time. Giants RB Devin Singletary stopped at the 1-yard-line late in the 4th quarter to keep the clock moving, but it kept Sunday's 21-15 win at Cleveland under the 37-point total. The Cowboys have something to build on after rallying late Sunday. But Dallas has yet to establish the run. Still, the Cowboys have gone over in all 3 games. This number is doable.

Best Bet: Over 43.5 Points at BetMGM

Sunday, September 29

Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Red Rifle blazed white hot Sunday in Las Vegas. Andy Dalton, at 36 and coming off the bench for arguably the worst team in the NFL south of Foxboro, became the first QB in the NFL to throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs in a game this season. And the Panthers ensured themselves of not going 0-17 thanks to a 36-22 win in Sin City. The Bengals come off a Monday night game against the Commanders.

Best Bet: Bengals -5.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Steelers are 3-0 outright and ATS. Pittsburgh's offense reached the end zone twice in their win over the Chargers - which was one more TD than the Steelers offense had scored in their first two games. The Steelers defense will control this game, as well. Anthony Richardson has a booming arm. But he's still more or less a rookie QB (it's is his 8th career start) going up against a Mike Tomlin defense. That usually doesn't end well. Pittsburgh has covered 5 straight times in September. And the over is also in play here on 38.5 points.

Best Bet: Steelers ML (-122) at DraftKings

Denver Broncos at New York Jets, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Jets are coming off a Thursday night rout of the Patriots. The Broncos are in midst of an East Coast swing of sorts, having upended the Bucs in Week 3. The Jets defense against a rookie QB (in Bo Nix) could lead to an ugly affair for the visitors. Aaron Rodgers was vintage against New England. And he, and BFF/offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, seek payback against Hackett's old team. Asking the Jets to cover a 7.5-point line at home is the stuff of folly, except for this week. It's personal. And this line did not move after the Broncos' win at Tampa Bay. Something's up here.

Best Bet: Jets -7.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Sam Darnold has become the QB the Jets had hoped he'd be when Gang Green took him with the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 draft. Of course, that was 6 years and 3 teams ago. In his first year in Minnesota, Darnold and Justin Jefferson have found football symbiosis. Darnold has 8 TD passes, 78 overall completions and is hitting on 67.9% of his attempts. Jefferson had 6 catches for 81 yards in the Vikings' win at Houston. The Packers will likely have Jordan Love back in the fold, given this number. This could be a fun one to watch.

Best Bet: Over 43.5 Points (-115) at DraftKings

Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Bears' defense is helping the offense ease Caleb Williams into the NFL. The Rams could well give Williams the chance to show some of the tools that led him to be taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft. The Rams have been decimated by injuries, losing both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. But they outlasted San Francisco in Week 3. Still the Bears defense has the edge in this one. The Bears have won 6 straight at home, and the home team has covered in 7 of the Bears last 8 games.

Best Bet: Bears ML (-130) at DraftKings

NFL Week 4 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back Today 2

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: We may well get Tom Brady in the booth to call a game featuring his most-recent team. FOX does not have a doubleheader this week. Brady's Buccaneers flexed some muscle in Week 2, pulling off a road win at Detroit before getting smoked at home by Denver. The Buccaneers opened as 1-point home dogs. this line slid 1.5 points after Philly's win at New Orleans. The Bucs have knocked the Eagles out of the playoffs in Tampa Bay in 2 of the past 3 seasons. And Tampa Bay has won 5 of 6 against Philly overall.

Best Bet: Buccaneers ML (+114) at DraftKings

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: An early-season NFC South showdown of consequence. Both of these teams lost close ones at home in Week 3 - but those losses were to the Super Bowl champion Chiefs (Atlanta) and the Super Bowl 57-runner up Eagles (Saints.) More or less a pick'em on the early board. Both teams are seeking a get-right game here. All the trend lines point to New Orleans as an outright winner.

Best Bet: Saints +1.5 (-108) at DraftKings

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Texans are winless against the spread this season after being the darlings of the betting public last season. The Texans were the latest team victimized by the 3-0/3-0 Minnesota Vikings and the golden arm of Sam Darnold. They lost 34-7. The listless Jaguars are coming off a Monday night game. The Texans are resilient, however, and have their past 7 games coming off loss. This number moved a full point after that Texans loss. We're just not sure what the Jaguars can do on a short week coming off a Monday night game at Buffalo.

Best Bet: Texans -4.5 Points (-110) at DraftKings

New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: This game had the largest spread in the NFL - 11.5 points - when the early-season lines were first posted last spring. It has bounced since. It tightened to 9 after Week 1, and stood at 9.5 heading into Week 3. The Patriots were putrid in losing to the Jets in Week 3. And the 49ers still aren't sure what happened in their last-second 27-24 to the Rams. The 49ers blew a 14-point  lead in that one. And were doomed by too many Mistakes. Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel are still out this week. TE George Kittle should play. This is a classic get-right game for a 1-2/1-2 team thinking "Super Bowl" before the season. The Patriots are killing time until Drake Maye takes the reins at QB. But they still have a better ATS record than the 49ers (1-1-1). And the 49ers struggle to cover at home, failing to do so in 7 of 8 games.

Best Bet: Patriots +10.5 (-113) at DraftKings

Washington Commanders at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Commanders beat the Giants 21-18 in Week 2 without scoring a touchdown. Seven field goals won't be enough against Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. at home. The Cardinals haven't been a home favorite since 2022. As long as this number stays in this range, or tightens, the home team is the play here. And the Cardinals have covered 11 straight times against NFC East opponents.

Best Bet: Cardinals -4.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Browns have made baby steps in terms of ingratiating Deshaun Watson. But the Browns could only score 15 points at home against the Giants. They aren't anywhere close to where they want to be. The Raiders lost at home to Andy Dalton and the Panthers in Week 3.  Antonio Pierce's players quit early in that loss to the Panthers. The first team to 13 wins it. Hold your nose here.

Best Bet: Browns ML (-118) at DraftKings

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz:  A home-away-from-home game for the two-time defending Super Bowl champs. The Swifties should pack SoFi. And perhaps Taylor herself will be in attendance. The Chargers desperately need a win if there is any hope for drama in the AFC West this season. Patrick Mahomes has become a master chef in making chicken salad out of a bereft receiving corps. The Chargers could only score 10 points at Pittsburgh. KC's defense shut down Atlanta Sunday night and continues to be the most under appreciated group of players in the NFL. The Chiefs are on a roll ATS, covering the line in 8 of their past 9 games. And Justin Herbert's status - or his potential to be 100% - is up in the air. But keep this under 7 points.

Best Bet: Chiefs -7 (-108) at DraftKings

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens, 8:15 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: The two top AFC understudies audition for a chance to claim the No. 2 spot in the conference - at least for now. The Bills entered the season facing multiple questions - thanks to major roster overhaul - but opened at 2-0. The Ravens fell agonizingly short in the AFC Championship Game last January and began this season with Super Bowl hopes. After an 0-2 start, Baltimore rolled into Big D in Week 3 and led 28-6 before letting off the gas in a 28-25 win. Even coming off a Monday night game, Josh Allen won't be phased on the road here.

Best Bet: Bills +2.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Monday, September 30

Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)

Buzz: Will Levis vs. Skylar Thompson. Where's Howard Cosell, Dandy Don, and the Giffer when we need them? This total has dropped 2.5 points since it opened.

Best Bet: Under 37 Points (-112) at DraftKings

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions, 8:30 pm. (ABC)

Buzz: Part 2 of the Monday night doubleheader takes us to the Lions' Den, also known as the madhouse that is Ford Field. The Lions are 8-3 as home favorites in their last 11 tries. Things turned ugly quickly in the Motor City. Coach Dan Campbell is putting his house up for sale after his address became public and threats ensued. The Lions got right on the road at Arizona in Week 3. The Seahawks are making a run at the NFC West. But Detroit is getting a discount at home here.

Best Bet: Lions -4 (-110) at DraftKings
