UFC 250 Odds, Betting Tips & Picks: Nunes Vs. Spencer

While other sports leagues are just starting to make preparations for their return from the coronavirus, the UFC has been putting on events for a month now. And there are no signs of slowing down.

This weekend the UFC returns with another pay-per-view event, UFC 250, headlined by the greatest female fighter of all time, Amanda Nunes. She is looking to become just the third person in history to defend UFC titles in two different weight classes.

Outside of the title fight main event, UFC 250 is arguably the deepest card the organization has put on since its return from COVID-19 hiatus, with a number of excellent UFC betting opportunities.

Amanda Nunes by Decision (+340 at FanDuel)

In the main event of UFC 250, Nunes defends her featherweight title against Felicia Spencer. Though Nunes is a massive favorite (-850 straight), that doesn’t tell the real story of this fight.

Nunes is unquestionably the GOAT of women’s MMA, and at 32, she’s still in her athletic prime, However, Nunes isn’t a natural featherweight and in Spencer, Nunes faces one of her toughest tests ever.

Spencer is a grappler by trade, but more importantly she’s tougher than a coffin nail. Spencer went 15 minutes with Cris Cyborg bombing on her and she held up to that offense very well.

More to the point, Spencer is going to be looking for takedowns, something Nunes has had to contend with a lot recently. Spencer is likely going to look to use her size on Nunes and tire the champion out. As a result, Nunes is going to look to conserve energy, meaning Nunes won’t be hunting a kill, she’s going to play for points. In the end, that’s going to result in a potentially boring fight that sees Nunes get her hand raised by decision. Bet it here at FanDuel .

Raphael Assuncao by KO/TKO (+300 at 888sport)

Cody Garbrandt is a former bantamweight champion, but the man known as “No Love” seemingly has no love for tactical fighting anymore. In his last three fights, Garbrandt has been knocked out in almost identical fashion — getting drawn into a brawl and then getting caught with a big right hand.

Raphael Assuncao is the perpetual bridesmaid of 135, but aside from being an excellent grappler, Assuncao also possesses a powerful counter right hand. Expect it to land and when it does, Garbrandt will abandon his game plan and find himself staring up at lights for the fourth time in as many fights. Bet it at 888sport.

Cory Sandhagen by Decision (+188 at Unibet)

On a stacked card, this is the best fight of the night, a fight that will almost certainly guarantee the winner a shot at the vacant title.

Aljamain Sterling has been a growing concern in the bantamweight division for some time now, pairing a constantly improving striking game with dynamic grappling. Cory Sandhagen, on the other hand, is basically the new challenger on the block, bringing a Dominick Cruz-esque fighting style to the cage focused on movement and relentless volume.

On his feet, Sandhagen is going to outwork Sterling comfortably, with his footwork creating numerous problems. The only question is whether Sterling can land takedowns to control the fight. I’m betting he won’t as Sandhagen just won’t be taken down, meaning Sandhagen is going to style his way to a title shot. Bet it here at Unibet.
