The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees begin the 2024 World Series Friday at Dodger Stadium.

The World Series hype often includes tales of those who land the best seat, whether they be A-list celebrities, long-time devoted fans, or political dignitaries.

But what about the worst seats in the World Series?

They won’t get you any recognition on social media or notice during the national FOX telecast. But they will cost you a lot of money.

The get-in price for games at Chavez Ravine and in the Bronx (starting on Monday) starts at around $1,000 and goes up from there on secondary ticket markets.

Nothing Cheap About The ‘Cheap Seats’

Worst Seat In The World Series: Where Dodgers & Yankees Rank 1

The cheapest price on Ticketmaster for Game 1 was $1,032.71 (including fees) as of Wednesday. That puts you in Section 306 in the right field.

But that’s not the worst seat in the Dodger Stadium (above), the third-oldest venue used in Major League Baseball.

Before the 2024 season, Bookies.com analyzed the seating arrangements of all 30 MLB venues and determined the “The Worst Seats In Baseball    .”

We used an algorithm to weigh various metrics relevant to fan comfort and convenience. It used a 0-10 scale in each of the following six categories:

  • View obstruction from seat
  • Distance from home plate
  • Plate/seat angle
  • Exposure to sun, rain, and weather elements
  • Proximity to concessions and restrooms
  • Overall comfort

The best possible score on our scale is 60 out of 60, indicating a great seat. The lowest possible score is 0 out of 60, indicating a terrible seat. Ties were broken by price, with the lower-priced regular-season seat given more weight on our scale.

What Are The Worst Seats In The World Series?

The worst seat in Dodger Stadium, according to our analysis, is Section 48FD, Row A, Seat 14.

To sit there during any of the Fall Classic games at Dodger Stadium, expect to spend more than $2,100.

The worst seat in Yankee Stadium – and the worst seat in the World Series – is priceless.

Section 238, Row 24, Seat 18.

It's not for sale on any major ticket resellers.

The closest seat to it will cost you at least $1,758.00.

Here’s a look at each – along with our score.

The Yankees were notorious for having more than 1,000 seats in the bleachers that had their views of left or right field, respectively, blocked by a large bar and pavilion in dead-center field. Those seats have been removed.

But the fringe of the adjacent remaining sections poses a similar problem for Yankees followers and New York sports betting fans.

Our “winner” lies in Section 238, which is the furthest section away from home plate in left-center. Not only are you on a steel bench bleacher seat but your view of the outfield is also cut off both to the right (obstruction) and straight ahead (angle toward the field). Aaron Judge’s famed 496-foot home run in 2017 landed behind the 20th row of Section 237. So even he hasn’t been able to reach this seat – yet.

This seat was not available for any of the 3 possible World Series games at Yankee Stadium on Ticketmaster, StubHub, or SeatGeek as of Tuesday.

The average price for the closest seat adjacent to it for the three possible games in the Bronx is $2,063.33.

Here’s the rundown. There were no approximate seats available at Ticketmaster.

This seat places you in the lower right-field corner of Dodger Stadium. You are in a great spot to catch a home run – or foul ball. But the problem is you might not be able to see it.

The seats face toward the outfield and the sun. When you turn toward the plate, the foul pole rests directly between your sight-line and home. Since you’re in the second row, you can’t lean in to avoid the foul pole like the person in front of you in Row AA.

The first pitch for each of the World Series games possible in Los Angeles is 5:08 p.m. local time. The sun doesn’t set until 6:06 p.m. on Friday. If there’s a Game 7 in LA, the sunset would be at 5:59 p.m. That’s a lot of game with a lot of glare.

The average price of this seat – or the closest one adjacent to it – for the World Series is $2,500.36. Those numbers were determined by prices from Ticketmaster, StubHub, and SeatGeek for each of the possible games at Dodger Stadium as of Tuesday.
