UFC 268 Namajunas vs Zhang Odds, Predictions & Best Bet

It will be a huge night for UFC betting on Saturday, and not just because of the top of the UFC 268 card at Madison Square Garden.
Just like the main event at UFC 268 between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington on Saturday in New York City, the co-main event features a title rematch. But this one remains fresh on the minds of fight fans, having just fought back in April, and features tight odds at betting sites.

Rose Namajunas vs. Zhang Weili UFC 268 Analysis
At UFC 261, Rose Namajunas reclaimed the strawweight title with a first-round TKO over Zhang Weili after landing a head kick early in the bout to pull off the upset. There was no controversy to the finish, but given Weili’s otherwise sterling record (and the UFC’s clear and obvious interest in having a Chinese champion), Weili was given an immediate rematch over other viable title contenders.
Namajunas is a sophisticated striker who is able to fight a technical, volume-based approach and can also turn the lights out at a moment’s notice. Given her technical proficiency, fighting her at range is likely to lead to a bad time. However, Namajunas has shown a vulnerability to being crowded, and though she’s not a terrible athlete, she’s not a particularly imposing physical force, a fact that has been problematic for her at times.
Conversely, Weili is the physical force in the strawweight division, having won the belt by overpowering Jessica Andrade, a woman who has been physically dominant over most 125ers. Weili is power, toughness, volume and aggression and overwhelms her opponents on the back of her raw physicality.

UFC 268 Rose Namajunas vs. Zhang Weili Best Bet
Though Namajunas scored the knockout with ease earlier this year, that outcome is almost certainly an outlier. Up until that point we had never seen Weili hurt, and that’s even after one of the best fights of all-time against former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
In the rematch, I suspect Weili will be more keen to the potential danger of Namajunas. So, I don’t expect a quick finish to come. Instead, I think we are in for a back-and-forth affair with Namajunas staying on her bike and outpointing Weili with her superior technical ability. As such, I like a bet on Namajuunas by Decision at +380 on FanDuel. ➜.
