This weekend the UFC keeps right on rolling with yet another Fight Night card, this one headlined by a women’s featherweight contest between Norma Dumont and late replacement Aspen Ladd.

It’s not just a UFC fight weekend though, as Bellator is once again back in your life, this time with the semifinals of their Light Heavyweight Grand Prix at Bellator 268, featuring current champion Vadim Nemkov defending his title against Julius Anglickas, and former champion Ryan Bader looking to earn a rematch against Nemkov by defeating Corey Anderson. There’s a lot of fights to discuss from a UFC betting perspective so let’s have at them.

First up, let's take a look at the odds available at sportsbooks and betting sites for the Ladd-Dumont bout:

Aspen Ladd vs. Norma Dumont Betting Analysis

Though she normally competes in the 135-pound weight division, Ladd has been notorious for her struggles at making the bantamweight limit, dating back to her run in Invicta. This unfortunate trend reared its ugly head again earlier this month when Ladd was scheduled to face Macy Chiasson at UFC Vegas 38, however, after a scary weight miss that bout was canceled due to health concerns. Instead, Ladd opted to stick around Vegas and try her hand on short-notice at 145 pounds.

If you set aside her issues with making weight, Ladd is one of the best prospects in women’s MMA and someone most people expect to compete for a title one day. She’s large for the bantamweight division (obviously), which means she won’t be outsized at featherweight and she’s a good athlete.

More importantly, Ladd possesses a complete game, able to work with power and at a high pace on the feet, as well as confident in exercising her takedowns and ground-and-pound game.

In some ways, Dumont is similar to Ladd, though she’s not nearly as hyped of a prospect. Dumont also struggled at making 135 and now seems to be locked into featherweight where she most recently eked out a split decision over former title challenger Felicia Spencer.

Like Ladd, Dumont isn’t lost on the feet (she’s a former Sanda competitor) but she butters her bread on the ground where she can put her BJJ brown belt to work.

Best Bet: Dumont vs Ladd

Simply put, Aspen Ladd is better than Norma Dumont in basically every area, and she has certainly beaten better competition. Add in that she will no longer be killing herself to make weight, and I expect to see one of Ladd’s best performances ever, which may just punch her ticket to a title fight with Amanda Nunes. Ladd is currently -145 at FanDuel, which is a great bet.

Vadim Nemkov vs. Julius Anglickas Betting Analysis

Over the last few years, perhaps no fighter in MMA has made bigger strides than Vadim Nemkov. After an underwhelming stint in RIZIN, Nemkov moved over to Bellator where he has dominated some of the best light heavyweights in the world.

Phil Davis, Rafael Carvalho, Liam McGeary, and Ryan Bader have all fallen before the combat sambo’s blend of high-volume striking and grappling, and now Nemkov gets probably his easiest test in years when he faces Julius Anglickas.

You can be forgiven if you’ve never heard of Anglickas before, because almost no one has. Though Anglickas has quietly stacked up a solid resume, including a 3-0 run in Bellator, the wrestle-boxer has not made much noise because he has won uninspiring unanimous decisions over other less-heralded prospects. In Nemkov, Anglickas is facing a massive leap in competition.

No disrespect to Anglickas but he’s well out of his depth here. Nemkov made easy work of Ryan Bader and Phil Davis, both better wrestlers and strikers than Anglickas. He’ll do the same here. Nemkov is currently a -450 favorite on FOX Bet, and that’s good parlay fodder for your sports betting app.

Other MMA Bets To Consider This Weekend

Ryan Bader vs. Corey Anderson: The co-main event for Bellator 268 is a light heavyweight fight between former UFC fighters Ryan Bader and Corey Anderson where Bader is, inexplicably, the underdog. Yes, Bader lost his title to Nemkov last year but he rebounded with a win over Lyoto Machida, and while Anderson has been a consistent top-10 guy for the last few years, he’s still a worse version of Ryan Bader. Bader is currently +140 on FanDuel and that is a steal.

Ramazan Emeev vs. Danny Roberts:: Back on the prelims at UFC Vegas 40, highly touted prospect Ramazan Emeev takes on well-regarded action-fighter Danny Roberts in a welterweight contest that is basically set up for Emeev to get a win. Roberts is a solid fighter and always good for a scrap but he’s not much of a defensive wrestler and Emeev excels at planting people on their butts and holding them down. Emeev To Win by Submission or Decision is currently -200 at FOX Bet, which is the perfect bet to parlay with the above Nemkov suggestion.
