Tip 1 - 2:47 Fontwell - Lermoos Legend

It’s been just over a year since Lermoos Legend was in the winners’ enclosure, but he’s gone close a few times this year and is likely to claim another victory before 2026 is out. Form of 27322 since April makes for good reading, and he is a nine-time chase winner over his long career, as well as recording a course-and-distance win here last September. Sean Bowen has ridden the 11-year-old to all his wins and is back on board today.

Tip 2 - 3:40 Warwick - Dunkerque

This looks an unusually competitive four-runner field, with all having realistic chances on paper of winning. Dunkerque had a fairly nondescript hurdling career, with two wins from 12. Things have picked up very nicely since switching to the bigger obstacles. He’s had four wins and two seconds from six races so far. This is quite a big step up in distance, but the good to firm ground should be a positive for him. This looks worth a punt at the prices.

Tip 3 - 3:50 Beverley - Go Victor

Go Victor is something of an OXO horse, having won at Pontefract and following up with a placed effort at Chepstow, but beating just two rivals in his three other recent runs surrounding those efforts. Last time out, he was allowed to come home in his own time after being denied a clear run throughout the second half of the race. He has the form to feature here, and first-time cheekpieces could wake him up.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
