Majborough - Queen Mother Champion Chase - Wednesday

Majborough was well-fancied by many coming into the festival, but with Marine Nationale ruled out of the festival he is now banker material. He nearly won a competitive Arkle last year despite jumping poorly, and looked a different horse at Leopardstown with some headgear applied. A repeat of that performance puts him at a level nothing in the field can match.

Bambino Fever - Mares' Novice Hurdle - Friday

The Mares' Novices Hurdle is typically one of the weakest races on the week, so when I good one is in it you might as well take advantage. She has been very short prices for her races for a reason in her career and it is no different this week. Throw in the fact she has Cheltenham Festival form to her name and you can see why many consider Bambino Fever as banker material.

Fact To File - Ryanair Chase - Thursday

The Cheltenham Gold Cup’s loss is the Ryanair Chase’s gain, as it seems as though Fact To File is being readied for a tilt at defending the crown he so convincingly won instead of going up against other stablemates on Friday. He was a nine-length winner of this 12 months ago as a 6/4 favourite, and there’s a decent chance he will go off even shorter this time around.

A lot of that has to do with a dominant win in the Irish Gold Cup, where he beat Gaelic Warrior by five lengths and Galopin Des Champs by over 13. It seems a shame, he won’t be lining up on Friday, but it means we have a banker and a half on Thursday.

Dinoblue - Mares Chase - Friday

In form after winning her Cheltenham prep race in February and her only other start this year, Dinoblue is well set to defend her Mares’ Chase crown. She’s never been out of the top two in a chase at the track and looks ready to make it back-to-back festival wins. Her main danger must give her weight and had a hard race at the Dublin Racing Festival; everything else is nowhere near her level. She could be the banker of the entire meeting.
