The York Ebor Festival got underway on Wednesday, kicking off four huge days of action at horse racing betting sites. Each day sees the feature race go to post at 3:35pm. On three of the four days, the feature race is a Group 1, but on Saturday, the Ebor Handicap takes centre stage.

Ebor Festival Tips

York is a galloping track, one that’s very different to the likes of Goodwood. The emphasis here is more on stamina than speed, so expect there to be some pretty big turnarounds in form from Glorious Goodwood, if horses are reopposing. 

The Gimcrack Stakes, a Group 2 for 2yo's over six furlongs, is today's 3:00. Action Point is an interesting runner. He made all for Hollie Doyle in a listed race at Sandown, getting back on track after a disappointing run at Royal Ascot where he lost a shoe. His sire, Blue Point, won this race in 2016 and he looks like an interesting each way bet. 

The feature race of the day is the Nunthorpe Stakes at 3:35pm. The betting is headed by John Quinn's admirable mare Highfield Princess. She's well worth her place at the top of the betting, and is sure to be the focus of plenty of price boosts today. It might be worth taking a shot at Nymphadora. She has a lot of ground to make up on the favourite on her last running, but with two wins from three runs at York, she could well outrun her odds.
