Mauricio Pochettino signed a two-year contract with the option of a further season last summer to join Chelsea, but he has only last one of those years after leaving the club by mutual consent. Football betting sites have now opened a market on who might replace the Argentine, with their five wins in a row to close the season bringing them European football for next season. Former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is the current favourite for the role, while ex boss Jose Mourinho, who has done such a fantastic job with Chelsea in the past, installed as the second favourite.

There are a number of intriguing names on the market at present who are towards the top of the market with most betting apps now it is live. The Premier League club could also look to familiar names. Roberto De Zerbi, Xavi and Ruben Amorim are towards the top of the betting markets, with Jose Mournino joining them after being available at 40/1 on Friday morning.

McKenna a man in Demand

Kieran McKenna has led Ipswich to remarkable back-to-back promotions into the Premier League for the first time in over 20 years. It is first management job, and teams are rightly very interested in the services of the 38-year-old. He has also been linked with the Brighton manager's job after Roberto De Zerbi left his role at the end of the season. It remains to be seen if the young manager wants to jump ship from Ipswich or give it at least one season in the Premier League with them before potentially moving to a bigger team. The odds at the best new betting sites suggest he could be tempted, although new reports suggest Chelsea are not considering him for the job.

Roberto De Zerbi A Potential Stamford Bridge Fit

Roberto De Zerbi was a relative unknown in the management world when he took over Brighton after Graham Potter had left for Stamford Bridge last season. However, he impressed fans and neutrals alike with the way he set his team up. He managed to inspire Brighton to Europa League qualification through the league last season, and he got them to the knockouts of the tournament this time around.

It felt inevitable that he would leave for a bigger club at some point, and he has was linked with the Liverpool manager and Barcelona manager jobs previously. For now, he is unattached after leaving Brighton at the end of the season, but he is likely to be in demand.

Amorim a Popular Name

Ruben Amorim could be one of the names on the Chelsea manager's shortlist, with the Sporting CP coach having previously been linked to a host of high-profile positions. The Portuguese had a successful spell in charge of Braga between 2019-20 before taking over at Sporting where he has developed a winning team.

Amorim won the Primeira Liga with Sporting during the 2020-21 season, and the side have also had a number of successful forays into Europe. This season, they won the Portugeses league comfortably ahead of Benfica..

It appears as though this promising young manager will interest many clubs around Europe and will be an interesting name on many betting app markets.

Mourinho Set For Another Chelsea Return?

It seems like a fantastical notion, but Jose Mourinho is likely to be among the names bandied around on betting sites in the Chelsea FC manager betting, particularly now that he is a free agent after being sacked by Roma earlier this season. His odds to take the job plummetted on Friday having been 40/1 in the morning he is now around 5/2 with BetMGM to take the job.

Mourinho remains one of the most successful Chelsea manager of all time, with the 61-year-old having won three Premier League titles during two spells with the Blues. He was able to secure successive domestic crowns in 2005 and 2006 before steering them to another success in the 2014-15 season.

The self-styled 'Special One' previously worked under former owner Roman Abramovich and might be open to a third stint at Chelsea, with the supporters keen for a serial winner to potentially return and take charge of a squad brimming with talent.

Rodgers Has Chelsea Connection

Brendan Rodgers does have a Chelsea connection, and the 51-year-old could be interested in the vacancy at Stamford Bridge given the stature of the team and his connection. Rodgers was reserve team coach at the west London club between 2006 and 2008, with the Northern Irishman then embarking on a managerial career which has largely been successful.

Rodgers has been in charge of several high-profile clubs, with several years spent at Liverpool between 2012-2015, where Rodgers created an entertaining team who came within a whisker of winning the Premier League title. He was then successful with Celtic before getting the chance to manage in the Premier League again, and he has won the FA Cup with the Foxes.

Rodgers steered Leicester to Europa League spot in two consecutive seasons, and this move would be an opportunity for the manager to return to a club he knows well, and he is likely to be at least linked with the job by new betting sites despite only rejoining Celtic in the summer.

Enrique Sure to be Among Chelsea Favourites

Luis Enrique has been a name in the betting frame for the Chelsea manager's position with most bookies previously, and it could be that the Spaniard could be interested this time around.

Enrique took charge of the Spain national team at the 2022 World Cup, but he is most renowned for his success at Barcelona, with the 53-year-old having won two La Liga titles and also a Champions League crown.

The coach has never operated in England before and much comes down to whether he has the desire to take on a fresh challenge having only taken over at Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
