Erik Ten Hag saw his Manchester United team fall to a third consecutive defeat at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, with a 4-3 scoreline not reflecting the dominance of Bayern Munich during that Champions League encounter.

The Dutchman saw the Red Devils experience a slow start to the previous campaign before the team managed to rally, although there is now fresh speculation over his future at Old Trafford.

Football betting sites have updated their Sack Race betting odds and Ten Hag is now among the favourites to be the next Premier League out of a job.

New betting sites still think that Paul Heckingbottom and Sean Dyche are the top-flight managers are at most risk of losing their respective jobs right now, although all eyes will be on Turf Moor when United clash with Burnley this weekend.

Many thought that Erik Ten Hag could be in a spot of bother after Manchester United slumped to a third defeat in the space of four Premier League games, although the bookies still think that the Dutchman has a number of games to improve things.

Crystal Palace are set persist with Roy Hodgson in charge of the Eagles for the 2023/24 season, and the bookies don't anticipate the former England manager will be in the firing line. All eyes will be on Ange Postecoglou and Mauricio Pochettino, who have taken charge of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, respectively, with Pochettino under pressure to get things right after a slow start.

Former Celtic boss Postecoglou will hope to resurrect the fortunes of Spurs, while Pochettino will also be under pressure after Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter were axed at Stamford Bridge last season. However, both men are expected to be given time to settle into their roles, and they are outsiders with betting apps in the Sack Race market.

Could Ten Hag Be in the Firing Line at Manchester United?

The best betting sites don't yet think that Manchester United will pull the trigger on Erik ten Hag, but it's clear that the Dutchman is having the stickiest patch of his Old Trafford career so far. The Red Devils sit thirteenth in the Premier League table and they were recently outclassed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Ten Hag criticised the lack of determination at the Allianz Arena, although the buck stops with the manager when it comes to a work ethic in the group of players and it's possible that the powers-that-be might look to make a change. There's certainly plenty of media speculation that the former Ajax coach has just a handful of games to turn things around.

Having endured successive defeats against Brighton and Brentford at the beginning of the previous season, the Red Devils were able to rally and eventually finish third in the table under Ten Hag.

United also landed the EFL Cup in what was a successful first season for the manager, although the former Ajax boss has already seen his team lose to Tottenham, Arsenal and Brighton this term. The home defeat against the Seagulls was especially galling, with the defence once again creaking, and the team have work on their hands in the Champions League.

The bookmakers offer relatively big odds that Ten Hag will become the latest "winner" of the Sack Race market, and it's unlikely that United will make a change, despite the very public fall-out with Jadon Sancho. Much will depend on what happens over the autumn months to see whether the current manager has a long-term future at the club.

Could Dyche Be Next EPL Managerial Casualty?

Julen Lopetegui exited Wolverhampton Wanderers before a ball was even kicked this season, but Sean Dyche could be the next manager to go. The Everton boss saw his shot-shy team lose their first three matches of the season, with a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United being followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal.

Despite creating plenty of chances in their first two games at Goodison Park, the Merseyside outfit drew a blank against both Fulham and Wanderers. In between was a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Aston Villa, and a trip to Bramall Lane saw the Toffees take a 1-0 lead before having to come from behind to land a point. The Merseyside team then put up a stubborn defence against Arsenal before the Gunners eventually found a breakthrough.

Dyche is unlikely to be sacked right now considering Everton's modest financial situation, with the former Burnley manager realistic about the club's spending ability, although the club have managed to sign Beto, who has already made an impact in a blue shirt. Arnaut Danjuma also appears to be a shrewd signing, and it's hard to see who else could be doing a better job than the current manager.

Will Heckingbottom Last Season at Bramall Lane?

The new betting sites think Paul Heckingbottom is vulnerable, and that is reflected in his short Sack Race betting odds. Sheffield United lost their opening three matches of the season, being beaten by Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City. They were able to land a point against Everton before the international break and took the lead at Tottenham before dramatically losing the game in injury-time.

Heckingbottom pulled no punches after the game and lamented the poor refereeing, with Ollie McBurnie seeing red for two yellow cards at the end of the match. Right now, a return to the Championship could be on the cards, although new signings Gustavo Hamer and Cameron Archer have both made bright starts.

Expectation levels are relatively modest at Bramall Lane, and we shouldn't forget that the manager was able to achieve automatic promotion last term after the Blades missed out in the play-offs the previous campaign. The manager will surely get a few more games to try to get some points on the board.

Cooper Looking Safe From Sack at Nottingham Forest

For the majority of last season, Steve Cooper was trading among the Sack Race favourites with the best betting sites, with the Welshman somehow coming out on the other side and steering Nottingham Forest to safety with a game to spare.

During the campaign, Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis issued a statement backing Cooper, but some regarded it as the dreaded vote of confidence, with Forest maligned for making a splurge of summer signings in what was a scattergun approach to trying to stay in the top flight.

Now Cooper is looking to build on last season's successful survival, with the former Swansea boss having recently engineered a 1-0 win at Chelsea after narrow defeats on the road at Arsenal and Manchester United. The Midlands side have also beaten Sheffield United at the City Ground, and that represents a satisfactory start to the season.

Moyes Enjoys Strong Start With Hammers

West Ham United spent much of the 2022/23 season looking over their shoulder and scrapping against the threat of relegation, with the London side eventually finishing six points clear of the drop zone. There were rumours that David Moyes would be replaced in the summer, but the team's Europa Conference League success convinced the board to keep him in place.

It looks to have been a good decision, and Moyes has drifted on the Sack Race market with the new betting sites. Ten points from five games played means the Hammers sit sixth in the Premier League table, and it's unfathomable that the London club would think about parting company with a manager going from strength to strength.

Although Moyes has regularly been among the favourites in the Sack Race market over the past couple of years, you could now argue that he is in a safe position at the London Stadium, with the team coping admirably after the loss of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Volatile Silva Not Certain of Long-Term Fulham Future

Marco Silva has been hugely successful at Fulham, steering the London outfit to a top-half finish in the Premier League last season. The 46-year-old previously enjoyed promotion with the high-scoring Cottagers and then helped Fulham cement their place in the Premier League last term with a 10th-placed finish.

It did look as though Fulham might head into the 2023/24 season without Silva, as the former Hull City and Everton manager was approached by Al Ahli. The ambitious Saudi Arabian club were keen to recruit the manager and reportedly offered a two-year, £40 million deal, but the Portuguese straight-batted questions with regard to this advance and has now committed his future to the London club.

Silva has now seen star forward Aleksandr Mitrovic head to Al Hilal, but the team have made a respectable start to the season. A 1-0 victory at Goodison Park was followed by a 3-0 home reverse against Brentford, although Fulham were then able to secure an unlikely point at the Emirates when drawing 2-2 against title-challenging Arsenal before a heavy defeat at the Etihad. A 1-0 win over Luton means that they are in the top-half of the table.

Will Postecoglou Be a Success at Spurs?

Ange Postecoglou is the flavour of the month at Tottenham following a bright start to the season which has seen Spurs earn thirteen points. After a 2-2 draw at Brentford in their opener, the north London club have achieved four successive wins and the latest of these was a dramatic 2-1 win over Sheffield United.

Since Mauricio Pochettino left Tottenham in 2019, the club have had a spate of permanent and caretaker managers. Jose Mourinho was the first to try his luck before Nuno Espirito Santo was quickly followed by Antonio Conte, but the Italian ruffled too many feathers during the 2022/23 season.

Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason were then both acting managers as the campaign drew unsuccessfully to a close and chairman Daniel Levy will hope that Ange Postecoglou is able to steady the ship and start building a squad that is capable of challenging for major honours over the coming seasons.

Postecoglou entered uncharted territory after a hugely successful time of things at Celtic, where he won five of the six domestic trophies available. Things are a lot different when it comes to Spurs actually competing for a Premier League top four spot this season.

The Australian will hope that the likes of Richarlison and Son Heung-Min can fill the big hole in attack left by Harry Kane and thirteen goals in the first five matches indicate that there is plenty of attacking verve, with Son pilfering a hat-trick at Turf Moor.

Can Pochettino Last Two Years at Chelsea?

Mauricio Pochettino is now the head coach of Chelsea after Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard all made way between the start and the end of a disappointing 2022/23 Premier League season.

The Argentine has signed an initial two-year deal at Stamford Bridge after a hiatus following his time at Paris Saint-Germain, but he has a tough task on his hands. It's been a mixed bag of results so far, with five points taken from as many matches and the only victory has come against a modest Luton side.

Pochettino has been tasked with building a team after a staggering £1 billion was spent on new players in the past 12 months. There was a 3-1 defeat at West Ham and more recently a 1-0 home reverse against Nottingham Forest. The bookies don't think Pochettino is in any danger of being sacked right now, but the 51-year-old will be under no illusions that Chelsea need to be competing for the Premier League title next season, with the owner and supporters impatient for success.

Will Iraola Be a Hit or Miss at Bournemouth?

Betting sites had only just put up a next Bournemouth manager betting market when it emerged that Andoni Iraola would be replacing Gary O'Neil at the Vitality Stadium for the new season.

The Spaniard was clearly lined up to take charge of the Cherries, and the 40-year-old had been identified as someone who can steer the team in an upwards direction. The Cherries have so far taken three points from their opening four matches, with draws being recorded against Chelsea, West Ham and Brentford.

Previously to his appointment, Iraola had no experience of managing in England and now faces the task of being successful in a hugely competitive league, with many expressing surprise that O'Neil wasn't given the opportunity to move forward after successfully keeping Bournemouth in the top flight against the odds.

Iraola impressed with Rayo Vallecano in his previous role, steering the team to promotion in 2021 and then reaching the semi-finals of the Spanish Cup a season later. There was an approach from Leeds United earlier in 2023 as they searched for a replacement for Jesse Marsch, with Bournemouth now hoping to profit from this hire.
