Robert Lewandowski has broken all sorts of goalscoring records in Germany, with the prolific striker scoring an incredible 204 goals in 220 Bundesliga matches after initially making his name at Borussia Dortmund. Media reports suggest that the player now wants to sign for another European club before he turns 35.

The 32-year-old is in the best form of his life breaking the Bundesliga's single season goal total with 41 in the 2020/21 season before following that up with three goals for Poland in Euro 2020.

It appears that Bayern Munich have currently slapped a £100 million price tag on their star striker which might warn off potential suitors at this stage, although there is now a betting market speculating whether Lewandowski might leave Bayern and sign for another club with the Premier League one possible destination.

Manchester City Favourites to Land Polish Assassin

Pep Guardiola has previously described Robert Lewandowski as the most professional player with whom he has worked, while he was Bayern manager. It might be that Manchester City turn their attention to the prolific Bundesliga forward considering that they appear to have hit something of a buffer when it comes to signing Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Guardiola might not say this explicitly, but the Citizens need a top-drawer striker following the departure of Sergio Aguero and Lewandowski could be an option which explains why the English champions are favourites to secure his signature before the deadline window closes until January.

Lewandowski doesn’t necessarily want to rock the boat at the Allianz, although the chance to come to England and potentially win more trophies might be an enticing prospect. City have already demonstrated their financial clout this summer when capturing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100 million.

Could Real Madrid Sign Lewandowski?

Real Madrid are currently second favourites to snap up a player who is contracted to Bayern Munich until 2023. Los Merengues are always in the market for some of the global superstars as they have previously demonstrated when snapping up the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard.

Perhaps the Spanish capital would be an attractive option to Lewandowski who might hope for a lucrative contract with Real. The opportunity to play for one of the leading clubs in La Liga could boost his chances of winning silverware away from Germany. On the flip side, Real seem to be among the clubs in Europe who are financially constrained at the moment which could put a spanner in the works.

Paris Saint-Germain Could Afford to Sign Lewandowski

When it comes to big money European signings, few do it better than Paris Saint-Germain these days. The French giants have been throwing money around like there’s no tomorrow. Lionel Messi is a remarkably high-profile capture this summer along with Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donarumma and Gini Wijnaldum.

Perhaps Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t need any more firepower at the club at this point in time considering that Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will all demand game time, although PSG are always likely to be interested in players that can improve the squad and Lewandowski could certainly be on their radar.

The investment made already this season makes PSG a team capable of challenging for the Champions League. They reached the final in August 2020 only to lose to Bayern with Kingsley Coman scoring the only goal.

Could Lewandowski Team Up With Lukaku at Chelsea?

Chelsea supporters are delighted to see Romelu Lukaku back at Stamford Bridge and it’s possible that Thomas Tuchel will want a strike partner for the Belgian, with Robert Lewandowski continuing to operate at the peak of his powers. It’s a mouth-watering prospect to imagine the two players in tandem when it comes to Premier League action.

At the moment, the London club are among the outsiders to secure Lewandowki’s signature before the transfer deadline, although they might be keeping tabs on the player’s current situation at Bayern Munich.

Roman Abramovich continues to bankroll the club and ensure that players such as Lukaku, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva have been able to arrive in west London.

Barcelona Might Struggle to Pay Lewandowski’s Wages

We’ve seen Lionel Messi essentially being forced to leave Barcelona due to his astronomical wages being unsustainable at the Catalan club. However, that does leave a huge hole to fill and perhaps Robert Lewandowski can find himself operating for Barca sooner rather than later.

It might be that Barca’s financial situation improves over time and that would give encouragement to the supporters that they can compete for the Pole’s signature, with Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay the leading forwards at the club who are currently without an out-and-out striker.
