The 26th Super League Grand Final takes place on Saturday between Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons. It's fitting that these two sides are the last two standing given they finished first and second in the table on 40 points from their 27 games played in the regular season.

Wigan claimed top spot and the Minor Premiership on points difference, but both sides were afforded a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

The key to Wigan finishing above Catalans at the end of the regular season was the Warriors' defensive record. Both teams scored 722 points in their 27 matches at an average of 26.7 points per game, but the French side's defence wasn't as good as Wigan's.

The Warriors conceded 360 points compared to Catalans' 420 which enabled Wigan to secure the number one seed in the playoffs. Last weekend, the Dragons were pushed all the way by St Helens before coming out on top 12-6.

Wigan had no such worries in their comprehensive 42-12 win over Hull KR, when they scored three tries in the opening 10 minutes of the first half, and two in the first five minutes of the second half.

The Grand Final is always a popular event for UK betting sites, with so many markets available for customers to bet on. These include, handicap winner, total points and winning margin.

Betfred is the official sponsor of Super League and they have a number of promotions available ahead of the biggest game on the calendar for rugby league in the UK.

The Super League Grand Final is the pinnacle of the domestic game in the UK. For the two teams involved, it a culmination of hard work for the previous 11 months or so, right from the start of pre-season in November.

For the winner, it's a chance to say they were the best team in the league this year, while the losing team will have an off-season contemplating where it went wrong and how they can put things right to go one better next year.

For many people, this will be the only rugby league game they watch this season and new betting sites will be eager to attract new customers this weekend with betting offers and boosts.

Super League Grand Final Enhanced Odds

Whether you are a new customer, or an existing customer, UK betting sites will be offering promotions including free bet offers before and during Saturday's battle at Old Trafford. Will Wigan win their sixth Grand Final or will it be a first for the Catalans Dragons?

bet365 Enhanced Odds For Warriors vs. Dragons

Grand Finals are generally low-scoring games, but St Helens' 24-12 win over Leeds in last season's decider was the first time in seven Grand Finals that saw 36 points or more scored. Can that trend continue this weekend?

The last time Wigan played the Dragons was in Perpignan at the end of August and the Warriors recorded a resounding 34-0 win. bet365 is offering odds of 7/1 from 6/1 on the Warriors to win the Grand Final and for Wigan to score over 28.5 points.

BoyleSports have a great offer which covers both codes of rugby. Also available during the Rugby Union World Cup, BoyleSports will settle any bets immediately if the team backed goes 14 points clear of the other.

Both Catalans and Wigan have gone 14 points clear of the other in regular season games, so it could well happen again on Saturday. This will be Catalans' second Grand Final in three seasons and it could be a fairytale ending for their full-back Sam Tomkins.

Tomkins came through the youth system at Wigan and the final game of his glittering career will be against his home-town team. Tomkins' retirement can start with an almighty party at Old Trafford if he can help the French side to victory.

Back the Dragons to win the Grand Final by between 1 and 12 points at 21/10 with BoyleSports.
