Tip 2 - 2:45 Bangor-on-Dee - Escort’kheops
Escort’kheops got off the mark last time out in a maiden hurdle even though he didn’t put in the clearest round of jumping. Tip 3 - 3:30 Newcastle - Sir Carnegie
This one is set to be a low-quality affair and it’s Sir Carnegie who stands out the most despite being off for four months. To say the runners in this are inconsistent would be an understatement. And with that, we choose a horse with only five races under his belt and not seen since the 2025 Cheltenham Festival. Was pulled up in the Albert Bartlett that day but 12 days prior had bolted up by 16 lengths at Huntingdon over today’s distance. This is a chase, handicap and yard debut, so really anything could happen, but his previous pointing form suggests he’ll take to the bigger obstacles well enough. Goes well fresh, and will need to, but he seems worth a gamble.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
