Tip 1 - 1:20 Cheltenham - Carrigmoornaspruce
Carrigmoornaspruce hasn’t been seen since late December when she impressively finished second at 12/1 in a Grade 1 novice hurdle, taking her hurdles record to two seconds and a win. She’s never finished outside the top three in nine rules races and against other mares should help her out significantly on her Cheltenham debut.

Tip 2 - 2:00 Cheltenham - Sixmilebridge
Quite literally a graded horse in a handicap, Sixmilebridge won the Scilly Isles in fine style last time out, even managing to put Kitzbuhel’s jumping under pressure from the front. He’s in here off a rating of 150 which sees him being very well treated, as there is no doubt if he ran in the Brown Advisory his rating would be pushing 160 afterwards. This looks like a great chance to capitalise on that mark before it has gone.

Tip 3 - 2:40 Cheltenham - Jade De Grugy
Jade De Grugy came second in this race to the impressive Lossiemouth but has an excellent chance to make amends today. The Willie Mullins horse didn’t start season well with a distant third at Cork, but she followed that up with a second before claiming an 18-length win at Thurles in January and looks in excellent shape here. Favourite Wodhooh will take some beating but Mullins has won this race in each of the last two years and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he made it a hat trick.

Tip 4 - 3:20 Cheltenham - Ma Shantou
Since finishing 7th in last season’s Albert Bartlett, Ma Shantou has returned to this course and distance three times and won all three.Two of those were in handicaps off marks that wouldn’t normally be anywhere near good enough to win this, but he was very impressive last time out in the Cleeve Hurdle. He’s very much on the up and could take a lot of stopping at his favourite track.

Tip 5 - 4:00 Cheltenham - Impaire Et Passe
Majborough was a vulnerable odds-on shot in the Champion Chase and there is another one in the Ryanair. Fact To File has never put back-to-back performances together in his career so there is a doubt as to whether he can repeat his Leopardstown efforts. He will also have had a hard race that day so we will side with Impaire Et Passe who in contrast has six wins from his last seven starts. He also has strong Cheltenham form on his side which includes putting Gaelic Warrior to the sword in the Turners.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
