Tip 1 - 12:07 Lingfield - Ernie’s Valentine
Has had a bit of a renaissance at the end of this year, with two wins and two places from his last four races. Had one win in 17 races prior to that. There is reason to believe that he’s still on a fair mark of 71 having won here last December off the same mark and previously being successful twice in the 80s and once more from 78. Four visits to this track have yielded results of 2133, and he looks overpriced to add to that fine record.

Tip 2 - 1:37 Lingfield - Crackalackin
As one of two three-year-olds in the lineup, Crackalackin gets a handy weight allowance from most of today’s rivals. He had his first run over this longer trip, winning over course and distance despite racing wide throughout. The manner of that victory suggested that he could be ahead of his mark and he’s fancied to follow up despite a fairly wide draw.

Tip 3 - 1:45 Musselburgh - Sleeping Satellite
Sleeping Satellite has enjoyed a solid couple of months, winning a handicap chase at Stratford in October before following that up with a second place and then winning again at Catterick last month after stepping up a grade. This is a marked improvement from his previous chase results, suggesting he has rapidly improved since he switched to Fergal O’Brien’s yard last year and started sporting a tongue-tie.

Tip 4 - 1:55 Fontwell - El Bandido Pancho
El Bandido Pancho has been in great form since pulling up at the start of the year, with two wins and two seconds from his four visits to the track. It looked like only the penalty he had to carry stopped him making it three wins on the spin, so after a few weeks off and running off his proper handicap mark he can get back to winning ways.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
