Tip 1 - 12:05 Cheltenham - Barlovento
Barlovento ran a cracker on Boxing Day at Cheltenham and would have won a long way if it wasn’t for a mistake at the last. Tip 2 - 12:40 Cheltenham - One Horse Town
This juvenile hurdle is full of horses who look set to go on to better things, so picking the winner could be difficult. The two protagonists at the top of the market, Maestro Conti and Minella Yoga, have done nothing but win, but it’s One Horse Town’s previous record at Cheltenham that holds sway for us. Disappointed last time out, but back with some cut in the ground, he could repeat his Grade 2 win here from November.

Jagwar returns to his favourite haunting ground looking to continue his progress. Winner of a novices’ handicap on this card last year, he went on to land the TrustATrader Plate at the Cheltenham Festival. His first run since that win came here in the December Gold Cup, where he looked an unlucky loser behind Glengouly. There could still be mileage in his rating of 149 and he may well take this before another tilt at Festival glory.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
