Tip 1 - 1:20 Clonmel - Baby Kate
Baby Kate was highly-regarded as a bumper horse earlier in her career, going off favourite for the mares bumper at Aintree. She won on hurdling debut that season, but has seen the racecourse just twice in the past year, each time running disappointingly. She’s entitled to come on for November’s reappearance and, in receipt of weight from all of today’s rivals, could show why she was so highly thought of at one time.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Taunton - Hypotenus
Hypotenus is the longest price of the three at the head of the market, but could have the best chance of picking up the spoils here. He should give a better account of himself back on good ground with a mark so far below his hurdles one you feel it has to click over fences at some point. With Irish Chorus on a career high mark and Juggernaut running inconsistently this could be his day.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Taunton - Benvoy
Benvoy picked up the third win of his career last time out at Huntingdon. It was his second race following wind surgery and should be more than competitive from a mark of 116. This five-year-old should have plenty of improvement yet. Visor has been reached for in place of blinkers in the hope of a little more improvement from last time out. The forecast rain shouldn’t hold any issues for him either.

Tip 4 - 3:40 Ffos Las - Out Of Focus
Despite going 18 months between races, Out Of Focus showed in November that even such a long break isn’t a bad thing as he finished a respectable fourth of 11 and then followed that up a month later by coming second to the favourite. Although he’s yet to win over hurdles, his best results have all come over 2m and a further drop in weights form last month could help.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
