Tip 1 - 2:14 Perth - The Last Cloud

Won three on the spin at Perth last year then went off the boil somewhat, but that has got his mark down a touch. If he improves for chasing, which always looked likely, he should give this a very good go. Connections have added a first time tongue tie for this outing, so they aren’t leaving anything to chance either.

Tip 2 - 2:25 Newmarket - Minzelle

Plenty has been expected of Minzelle each time she has run, but reality hasn’t always matched the market confidence. Has been favourite for all three races so far, winning once at Catterick. Last time out found the going tough as the favourite in a rather hot Listed event. The winner has since finished second in a Group 2, the second home has won in Listed and Group 3 company, third has finished second in Listed and Group 3 company and fifth home has won since. All that suggests an opening handicap mark of 82 could be quite low.

Tip 3 - 3.59 Perth – Divilabother

Divilabother goes into this as top weight, but for good reason, having won four of his last five and finishing a narrow second in the other. Each of those victories has come over a different distance, so going three miles should be no issue, and neither should a 4lb rise considering this impressive stretch has seen his rating go from 102 to 128. The most recent win was at this grade following his step up from Class 4.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
