Our Horse Racing Tips Staking Plan

Each selection we advised is a bet of £10 win single per horse. This is unless it is otherwise stated that is should be a £5 each way bet.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success, and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose. Check out their best bets for today below.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

Tip 1 - 1:25 Redcar - Kartini

Still chasing a first career win, Kartini has fared well on her five runs over this distance, and victory may not be far away. She’s largely been running at a grade higher on this course and made a solid account for herself in the sole Class 6 she was in this year, finishing fourth. A career low mark of 55 awaits today, down 3lbs from her last effort.

Tip 2 - 2:25 Redcar - Yafaarr

Yafaarr has been bandied around distances and grades a little bit over his career but has always shone at Redcar, winning three times and most recently doing so over course and distance. This is a significant step up, but his record here makes him dangerous, and his rating of 74 looks manageable considering how easily he won in a Class 5 earlier this month when 7lbs lower.

Tip 3 - 2:52 Hereford - Getarose

Has returned to the track in good form for the new season, winning on first race back handily before a decent third last time out at Chepstow. The move back to the minim distance appears to have brought about improvement that didn’t seem likely for a good bit of her maiden campaign last year. Rating of 84 and a huge advantage at the weights gives her a pretty decent chance here.

Tip 4 - 3:14 Leicester - Milteye

Plenty in this with chances, but Milteye looks to be the pick. Won this race from the same mark as today with the jockey on board. That day the ground was soft and is today again with more rain to come. Has been running OK in higher grades for the most part since that win last year. Last time out was under three lengths from the winner in a Class 3 when coming across trouble in running so should be bang there back in a Class 4 with some luck.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We've also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
